Default TOP SPEED

Has anyone ever heard of discontecting the VSS (vehicle speed sensor)? This will allow the vehicle to go past the set limit of 120 mph and it should go all the way to 140 mph.

sorry didnt notice your profile well i know from past with cars that have automatics usually have one in the tranny that will cause the car not to shift right on its own but with 5 speed usually just the 1 vss under the dash that runs the speedodometer and most likely loose that if you d/c it....you could try and see what happens cause the vss usually just takes the singal from the dash sends it to computer which tells it to cut off the fuel etc... at that speed 120 like you said.

As far as I know the top speed limiter on your car should kick in at about 113 mph.

i have a friend who has a 2001 integra gsr and when we were seeing how fast the hyundai would go, we both said 119-120. We did that because the speedo isnt always right. Better two than one

Wow, you all sure have low speed numbers. 3 days after purchasing mine, with only 52 miles on the car, I went 123mph. Since then, I've been able to top out at 128 mph, no mods, just stock. Maybe you should change your oil!!???
