Default Alternator, battery, warranty question.

So I just got off the phone with the dealer. Alternator is shot and will be replaced under warranty. But my brand new battery (I put in last friday) will no longer hold a charge (from being totally drained due to a bad alternator?), and that I would have to buy a new one. Shouldn't it also be covered? Or am I just stupid and SOL?

Probably not covered. If you still have the receipt, you can explain your predicament to the dealership.
If they don't budge, you can always right Hyundai Consumer Affairs.

Driving in Ohio blows.

They will not cover it because it is not a Hyundai part. What I would do is try to claim warranty from where you got your battery...as far as they know your alternator is fine...the battery just died all of a sudden. :
