Whats up my fellow Shark Racers!! Man I've posted here a long time ago and everyone was very help full TY!! My manual transmission is still cracked :(, But it hasn't gotten me down, I was looking for an old school the past few days and Wow... $3000+ for a rust bucket...Nah I'm cool. So I have this Tiburon that I want to park in my garage and start stripping it down and basically start over since pulling the transmission involves damn near pulling the engine. What do you all think. BTW I love my Tibby, and it is a daily driver/commuter. It does have a few dents and dings in its shell, but nothing seriously ugly. Just wondering if it is worth modding out?

This is a custom made big brake kit i have designed for the 03-08 Hyundai Tiburon.

This kit consist of the needed caliper adapter brackets and all needed mounting hardware, extended stainless steel brake lines, 3mm spacers that go behind the rotor for lower control arm clearance, rotors, brand new calipers that come with ceramic pads and pad hardware. Everything you need to bolt this kit on is included. If you are running the stock 17x7 wheels like in the pic, you will need a 10mm spacer for the wheel to clear the caliper, i used a spacer kit i got here on eBay that came with extended studs and it worked great no issues at all. I am now running 18x8 +33 genesis coupe wheel without the spacers and no problems at all. This brake kit will stop on a dime and give you 8 cents change, really it is that good!! My 2006 Tiburon GT stops the same as it did stock with very little pedal pressure, and when/if you need to pull up in a hurry you got all the brakes you will ever need.

Ive been running this kit on my car since January of this year, and have had no problems, no vibration issues, it just stops straight and true every time. This is a much better kit than any other one on the market, because it will give you OEM reliability, which is something the aftermarket kit cannot give you.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/251278870585...84.m1555.l2649
You will never find a brake kit this big, that is a bolt on deal, with OEM reliability at this price!!

2013 MVP Track Time Midwest Schedule

Good Morning All:

Another year of exciting track action awaits. MVP Track Time (www.MVPTrackTime.com) is pleased to introduce our 2013 Midwest track event schedule.

There are some changes, including our first 3-day track event at the new F1 track, Circuit of The Americas (COTA) in Austin, Texas. Visit MVP’s web site for schedule updates as 2013 progresses.

MVP’s goal has remained the same since we started in 2006, offering drivers great value with more actual track time at each event for less money then most organizations. Our regular three run group (Novice, Intermediate and Advanced) format give the drivers maximize time driving on the track instead of sitting in the paddock.

Below you will find our initial 2013 schedule, again subject to possible revisions as the year progresses.

February 1-3, 2013: Circuit of The Americas (Austin, TX) - SOLD OUT

June 3, 2013: Autobahn Country Club (Joliet, IL) – SOLD OUT

June 22 - 23, 2013: Road Atlanta (Braselton, GA) – ”Blue & Grey Track Days”

August 12, 2013: Autobahn Country Club II (Joliet, IL) – Full 3.56 Mile Track

October 12 – 13, 2013: Road America (Elkhart Lake, WI) – 4th Annual “Cheese Heads On Track”

November 23 - 24, 2013: Road Atlanta (Braselton, GA) – 5th Annual “Flyin’ Turkey Trot”

Registration (on line or mail in) for all our track events is available at:

http://www.MVPTrackTime.com/id47.html
Generally, we schedule a minimum of six, 20-minute session each day for each run group, with qualified instructors available for the Novice run group.

I hope you’ll join us in 2013 for plenty of on-track excitement with MVP Track Time. All courteous drivers are invited and welcome. Please, don’t hesitate to contact me if you have questions.

I’ll see you at the track in 2013. Happy Motoring!

So I just got a hyundai elantra 2003, 100k miles, manual transmission, good condition overall, I paid 2500, and I know that's a lot cheaper then what it should be according to kbb.

I'm unsure if it's GT or GLS. I've read quite a few forums/threads but still can't figure it out. (hence why I'm posting in the newbie forum)

It's definitely not hatchback, I have leather interior, and it's almost identical to this one. Can a GLS be leather inside? I have moonroof, and what looks to be a aftermarket stereo with AUX.

Also any advice, comments outside my question; I would really appreciate!

Hello all, i'm hoping to pick your collective brains here, i recently purchased a 1996 Excel with a 2.0l Tucson Bottom end, 1.8l Lantra Head, hot cams, Haltech Sprint 500 computer, extractors 2 1/2" system, yada yada.

Its a track only car and it has dyno'd 160 hp at the front wheels when its going. A couple of weeks ago i was fitting a tacho, and had wired up the earth, power and light wires, turned on the ignition and the tacho did its sweep and the light was on, all ok so far.

Started the car and no tacho movement which i expected as the pulse wire wasn't connected . Turned car off, located pulse wire, stripped back a bit of plastic, ready to confirm the tacho worked by touching the remaining tach wire to the pulse wire, went to start the car and it would turn over but not start?????? played around for hours to no avail.

I have had it to the workshop that tunes it and the symptoms that come up on the Haltech program are as follows.

TPS 100% open when closed
No Spark
No Crank signal
No Cam signal
Temp -10c

They feel its an earth problem and spent a couple of hours trying to get it going. I have removed the engine loom and traced all wires for connectivity and all pass, from ECU plug to Termination, Termination to Haltec plug, ECU to Haltec plug..

Its doing my head in bigtime...

Hope someone here may have another avenue i can try

Sorry for the long winded story .. cheers Gary

Repalced a tie rod end.

OK, I had a tie rod end that had a little play in it and did not want to get a wheel alignment after replacing it. I turned the steering wheel wheel almost full clockwise so that I could get at the driver side tie rod end. I taped a level to the top of the steering wheel and centered the bubble. I then took a laser pointer and placed it on 2 wheel studs. I marked the fender well where the pointer was pointing. If the play is a lot, you should try to center the hub (without causing the steering wheel to move) before marking the fender well. I removed the tie rod end and replaced it with a new one and then made sure that the steering wheel was still level. I adjusted the new tie rod end until the laser pointer hit the same spot on the fender well. I bought the new tie rod end from Rock Auto and spent $16.01 including shipping. How is that for a low buck fix.

Well let me introduce myself, I'm Lincoln (lpscruggs) and I'm new to this forum and new to import cars, Hyundai cars, and FWD all at the same time. After being run into and having my former long term ride (16 years) a Chevy (RWD) police car totalled I bought a sweet 2003 Hyundai Sonata with the 2.4 4cyl and AT. with low miles (68000). So here I go. Any help in my transition will be welcome. I do ride import motorcycles so I'm not a "complete virgin". Oh I live in the Wichita Kansas area so here we go.:D

Thanks in advance for any and all help, I'll be glad to offer any help I can in return. Thanks.
