this guy used to own a GK s/c, that was decked out like hell for show. he ended up selling it for the civic cause he said the tib wasn't "fast" enough for him. we did two runs.
first run. off the launch, launched at 4k, i take him by a car pull into second when his vtec kicked in he pulled up hit third he pulled a car ahead then it stayed steady from there. in the end he beat me by a car.
second run. this time i launched at 4,5k. off the launch i have him by a car and a half. hit second again he pulled up. threw it into thrid and he slowly creapt up again but it was steady after that. in the end he ended up beating me by half a car to a car.
we went back to talk and he he said "damn, your car has a crazy launch. i just saw you take off and go." (i've never lost to anybody off the launch). he said he was afraid he was going to lose but when he pulled on second he knew he had top end on me, because of vtec. otherwise that he said he knew he was going to lose on the low end.
----i think tibs need a better top end. it pisses me off how i can take everybody off the launch but in second they start creepping.
Are you spinning your tires when you launch? I dont understand how you can launch at 4.5k and "get a good launch". Maybe youre slipping the clutch? Either way good deaths.

Not to say your not getting a nice launch but.. something has to be slipping for you to go at or near redline. Why? What rpm are you normally at in 1st gear at 5mph? Leaving the line at 6500 or 4500rpms either your tires or clutch are going to have to make up that diffrence or your going to stall.... or break something.
