i was on my way to work today. driving by the college like usual and this couger "saleen" pulled out, there were saleen stickers all over it i've never herd of one but yeah.
he pulled out slow then came up fast and tailgated my @ss. so i slowed down a little then he slowed down and came on my @ss again. i turned he turned right behind me. i drove a little bit then it came to a two lane and he tailgated my @ss and threw next to me, by this time i was annoyed enough by him already, so i decided to race him and downed to 2nd right away.
i ended up pulling him right off the down into thrid and was a good 4-6 cars ahead already so i shut down and he was still ****y enough to do the famous ricer fly-by.
He sounds like an Idiot and his type give all of us cougar and contour owners a bad rep, he was probably running an unmodified zetec with a coffee can for a muffler.
It is not the car that is bad it is the ricer behind the wheel. Just ignore them they eventually go away. If that didn't work let them pull aside you, rev the engine, let them do the 3 honk thing, slowdown at the 3rd honk, and watch them fly away like an idiot.
there is no saleen cougar, obviously. the stock v6 would run a 15, and the svt probably a 14. by no means fast.
having said that, I know a 97 tib couldn't take a cougar like that. either the driver completely blew, or it was the I4 cougar, or you were in the quattro?
