Default took on a modded neon..next..B18C EH Civic

i went to the local rice meet and met some guy's who took notice of my beta accent..
they were a benign group..one drove a New V8 Dodge magnum, other a Red SW20, other a B18 Powered EH Civic,and finally teh Peon..Neon!!

the neon was modded well, Msd ignition,SRI,larger Injectors,Strut Bar,3-speed Autotragic..it has a SOHC 2.0L I-4 in its stock form put's out 132 HP & 129 ft lb TQ

he say's he's putting 145HP at wheel's

so we went on the highway 30MPH roll..Honk Honk Honk..We both floor it..i floored it in second and the neon hung for about 2 seconds then he lost it..i kept pulling and pulling..one of the buddies civic was hanging with me pretty good..the neon apparently went into limp mode because it didn't like the new header the guy installed..Engine was running rich bacuse of the large injector's so the rich A/F Mixture made the ecu think the 2nd oxygen sensor was lying because it was still reading rich after the gase's passed the Cat converter.

I suspect the neon's cat is gonna be burned to a white crisp chunk of ceramic soon because of all that unburned fuel coming out of the headers..

anyway's..the told the hondas guy i'd want to race him..tommorow
he agree's

is my beta accent able to take on a 1994 honda civic with a B18c integra GSR Motor?

when i go to the meet tommorow..i'm stripping the beta accent of all unnecessary weight

good luck with that GSR. Id say it depends on the condition of that honda. If its running right, with a good driver, and a few mods. Id put my money on it. Anything at all wrong with it... beta FTW

wait, stock exhaust (for the most part) and the 1.6 ecm???? I hope he has issues.

well, it looked like he beat me by a half a car length.

2nd gear 30 mph roll..we both floor it and we're pretty much neck to neck then he start's pulling away little by little bit by bit..right until we hit 110..he was half a car length away from me..

that's not bad for a VTEC 1.8 Versus a 2.0 Beta II

and we were both all motor..both stock hybrids.

i think accent95 had a similar race, but with a legit integra gsr. vid may be in his signature.

yep, the honda took me on 3rd gear,

but only because he was able to rev higher..that b16a was struggling to pass me everytime it shifted to a higher gear, which bring's the rpm down which make's it more vulnerable

took me by nearly a car length..

but i'm glad i raced. him ..now i have his performance data in my head

Well you didnt mention if it was a coupe or a hatch back. Then it depends on the trim level of the vehicle (CX?DX?EX?SI?). A b18c1 in a civic with I/H/E with a bad driver normally runs low 15's. A good driver with a good engine can run mid 14's with ease.

Example.

93 Civic CX hatch back with a b18c1
I/H/E
Integra type R cams
Chipped ecu (not dyno tuned yet)

My friend was getting used to how to launch the car ar the track (track prep sucked big time no traction). He ran 14.6's to 14.8's that night. After getting into the car I ran the same e.t.'s. I figured how to run the car and it ran 14.06 e.t. I thought it was a fluke maybe debris on the track tripped the lights. Then I made another run with no traction in 2nd gear...It ran 13.95 e.t. I was immediately asked not to run anymore beacause I didn't have a helmet. 13.99 e.t. or quicker at my track requies a helmet. So it comes down to the driver and the condition of the engine and mods. I seen about the same mods done to the similar hatch backs and they normally ran low 14's to high 14's.

LS transmission (try finding a y21 for cheap)
Type R throttle body and camshafts
Skunk 2 intake manifold
2 1/4" exhaust
chipped ecu

Best E.T. 14.23 on 185 60r 14 cheapy mismatched tires.

Current E.T. 14.6-9's on 195 50r 15
It's has a blown headgasket since 8-06-04 and a F'D LS tranny and it still runs high 14's
