Default 07 accent v. 02 accent

so i've got a 1,5 SOHC lc with an SRI as my only preformance upgrade. i'm at a redlight and it turns green. suddenyl i notice the brand new 07 accent (still had dealership plates) next to me starts to speed up so i engage in a little bit of econobox grand prix. we were pretty much neck and neck for awhile until around 55/60 mph when i started to pull ahead.

since the new accent has a 1,6 in it i'm assuming it was an automatic or someone who can't drive a standard. anyways...

it was a lot of fun. i love racing cars that are equally as crappy as mine. i just hope that new driver didn't get too discouraged and go cry themself to sleep because their automatic isn't quite as peppy as it ought to be.

anyone out there with a new accent? how do they feel compared to the old oens?

Nice kill.. I got to run ryans 1.6 accent at the track before he got his beta swap vs. a 1.5 accent. It was 17.1ish to 17.9ish but I put over half a sec off the tree on him, lol. That must have looked really bad for the 1.5. It had intake and exhaust from what he told me as we went to the line.

I doubt they are much quicker. Most of the 1.6 vs. 1.5 performance gain is gearing. The few extra hp doesn't hurt either, lol

blame the lousy aisin transaxles that hyundai use's..

even the honda fit makes better use of it's 105 HP 1.5L SOHC VTEC engine.
fit destroy's accent in acceleration..and that sir is the difference between honda and hyundai!

i think the new accent's are heavier and still noisier..
still..i'd snatch a set of 07' 16 alloy's and put em in my beta LC.
