Default Sonata on you tube

I was watching a video of a 3.3L Sonata doing a 0-170 and his tach goes up higher to like 6200 about 500 more than mine did. It looke liked he had 9100kms on the odometer. Is there some wierd safety thing on the computer that prevents the engine from going to the redline til the car has reached a certain mileage point to prevent owner from possibly damaging it. Also I notice that his shifts are faster at the higher RPM range than mine. Just regular driving my car seems to shift fast, bit when I max her out the shifts seem a little lazy and slow.

Next time you go unplug your battery for 5 min. Do some spirited driving on the way to the track Do Hyundais have torque management? My Aurora had that crap and when I would floor it off the start I would lose alot of power. Try taking off at 1/2 throttle, then mash it.

It seems like your times are in line with what they should be stock IMO. Some stickier tires would probably help your 60' time if your having wheelspin issues.

If Hyundai offered the Lambda Sonata with a manual 16 second passes would be cause for concern. No matter what Hyundai has developed the Sonata for leisurely driving and smoothness, not really for drag racing so your automatic is probably a little squishier than would be optimum. And yes, it's shifting too early to get the best ET.

I don't know how much experience you have drag racing, but I would be willing to bet your car is fine it's just the professional magazine test drivers managed to get better times. Do the battery disconnect ECU reprogram and try that.

Oh, and GM torque management FTL.

Default Wow

Gpa has a Sonota and I think that they're pretty quick BUT they're not as peppy as the Tiburon GT...
