Default got taunted by a mazdaspeed protege

a protege and i were leaving a afternoon car show,

we were both first at the red light on a 4-way intersection..

a girl was driving her boyfriends mazdaspeed protege..

i didn't know they wanted to race but at the green, i could hear her flooring it by the loud wastegate so i think what the hell,

I floor it & Rev the beta to 6500 and chirp into 2nd,
the mazdaspeed has a slight advantge of the turbo,

but i notice that the turbo isn't very peaky, when it's shifting into a gear, a surge of passing torque come's and takes my car by half a length and lose's steam after it hit's redline..shift's again, a bit of more passing and lose's again..

i hand the victory over the mazda for now, but it wasn't a fair race..had i known she wanted to go, i'd have given the beta a proper launch..

i recently installed a lightwiehgt obx crank pulley and with the intake and exhaust, my car feel's consideraby faster,

the car accelerate's to 6500 Rpm very quickly, and the power can be felt in the upper RPM's...

i did some launch's from a stand still and recorded a 7-8 seconds 0-60 times..
the speed really rise's after i'm in 2nd..

so i have I/E/UP..and i now am gonna get headers..

You'll get them next time.

What belts did you have to get with the UDP?

while i am a fan of natural selection, i am also a fan of not fucking with other people on the road who dont share someone's temporary insanity

there is a stretch of road by me that is 2 lanes same direction, with a huge section of tree growth seperating these two lanes from the other side going the opposite direction.. and this goes on for 30+ miles. i think it's fine if there's no traffic to go ahead and do a 3rd gear pull with the guy next to you. worse case scenario the car loses traction and you kill yourself in the trees off to the side, or hit the guy next to you (who has given consent to the event). of course, there are also state cops about every intersection or so

most drug dealers dont stop until they're in jail

most street racers dont stop until they're dead

Ouch,

Such hostility. In Alaska, street racing will do numerous things for you. First, we have pseduo-street gangs. Little teens that will do ricer drive bys, and do real drive bys when you beat them on the "strip". So, most of the guys that do have faster cars take it to the track. Our roads are known to have tons of gravel and potholes and whatnot because of the studded tires we use during fall through spring, so street racing does a horrible job to your paint and suspension and it's cheaper just to race on the track instead of replacing blown coilovers and readjusting your alignment every month.

Also, a trip to the track usually only takes 30 minutes, and they support track racing so it's like 5 dollar entry fees. Guys at the track are nicer, and instead of talking shit and fronting like the guys on our "strip" do, they bullshit and help out a lot w/your setup and adding great insight.

If you want, you can come over and check out the track slips we have, and you can come to our track. We even have a drift circle and Auto X track, but those are a little bit away. I bet the tracks aren't close to you being in an bigger city, so it's a little different for you, but it's dangerous and I'd rather not see, "RIP Tak82" on a forum post.

first, We dont have access to a track like ya'll do..if you do, thay's good..fine

second..we only engage on road's that dont' have car's ahead..

3rd..if they built a track around where i'd live..i'd happily give up SR and go to track all the time..even spend my lunch money for a entrance fee..

4:I only do it area's that i'm familiar with..i know where cop's come from, hide and unknowingly draft you.

If you think I'm hostile..you should be glad kirk's on on these boards..he was an ass of a moderator and would slam you on any post mad on these boards..

BTW:No Hostility intended..I just see so many moron's say they dont' srteet race and actually have the nerves' to post their little "Noble Sport"

Well...

I understand that you dont have a track near you, but just because you don't see other cars doesn't mean that accidents dont' happen. I've personally lost 3 friends to freak accidents and they weren't speeding nor doing anything risky in their cars at all. I've lost 2 cars this year from other people's mistakes just from going from Point A to Point B and been in the hospital for more days than I care to be. So, I'm always against street racing whenever possible... It's sad to lose good cars, and even worse to lose good people.

*^^*
