Default Played with a Porsche - WAY cool..!!!

OK.. its not a race.. its also not on the track but this is just too good to pass up and not share.

Last nite a friend and I were on our way to the Legal evening quartermile races at an established race track in my area and came accross this 2006/7 Porsche Carrera S.

I was doing about 100Kmh (+-60Mph) on the highway and he came flying past at about 180Kmh (+-110Mph).

So I decided to see if I could catch him in my Tibby.

So I geared down to 4th, floored it and luckily he was slowed down by a slower car about a quart mile ahead of us so we caught him no probs.

Anyways. He noticed me pulling up behind him and he floored it away from about 120Kmh to 200Kmh in a few seconds..
I tried to keep with him in the Tib but it took a while to reach similar speed that he was doing.

Eventually, we caught him again after doing about 240Kmh for a while and luckily the road was pretty open. The highway went from a 3 lane to a six lane and then back to a 4 lane for about 15Km's. Loooonnng sweeping corners and flat straights that would make any speedster cream his rods for.

All the way there were slower cars and the guy in the porsche was too afraid to pass the cars and did what any natural porsche or BMW driver would do and flashed his headlights to get the slower car out of the way.
All I did was move to another lane and pass the car.. AND the Porsche.
We played cat and mouse for about 20 Kilometres on this open road with only a few cars staggered over the distance we travelled which made the ride SOOOOOO much fun!!!

I topped the Tib out at 255Kmh on the clock and 249Kmh on my GPS system so yes.. we were travelling pretty fast.

Of course the Porsche was WAY faster and has a top end of close to 295 Kmh but the rush of doing the speed that I did on an open road "playing" with a car that you know is WAY faster than you but still able to "almost" keep up with it in corners and a few other places is something that only some will ever achieve or experience.

Eventually after sucking a quarter tank of juice in that short distance we travelled he turned off the highway with a hoot, a smile and a flash of his headlights in respect.

laters..

Damn shame we can't do that type of stuff in the States. Our Tibs are limited to about 120 mph (195 km/h) so the police can catch us...

A stock Tib could never outrun a Crown Vic Police Interceptor on flat straights. And if I recall...I don't think Tibs are governed.

Interceptors can be limited to either 127, 148, 167 if i remeber. But thats all with the rear end.

I could only take the first too.

But umm.. you cant outrun a motorola.

Not if the aeridales are watching. Have to be really, really good, knowing the area really well, and get really lucky to hide from a chopper.

Some roads, like I-90, should be autobahn-like in having a sky-high summer speed limit, or no speed limit at all. We pay enough in tolls for that road to be pristine. Oh wait, it isn't.
