Default Stay Away From Throttlebodys.com

He is an ebay seller too: stick47

He does not stand behind his products, he sold me and another tiburon owner throttle bodies that do not work and will not refund or replace them!!

Here is my story:

If you see a bbtb from throttlebodys.com or from ebay that looks like this:

RUN DO NOT WALK AWAY!!
THIS SELLER WILL NOT REFUND OR REPLACE DEFECTIVE PRODUCTS!!

I made the grave mistake of purchasing a bbtb from ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...139780695&rd=1
This is him too: http://www.Throttlebodys.com

and the product does not work. Bagpiper and I both had the same issues, when you install the part our cars sputter and stall under throttle.

I performed the following things to verify that I did not install it incorrectly:

-Verified no vacuum leaks
-Verified harnesses were plugged in the correct locations
-Verified tps was clocked properly
-Verified no gasket leaks
-Verified tp voltage was correct throughout entire range of throttle

Upgraded 54mm throttle body to 62mm (help) - WVStreets Forums

and you want to see even more proof of the quality parts this seller has? This is taken right from his website, lmfao!!!!!

Never being one to shy away from pushing the limits in prototyping new items, I've discovered that once in a while, the limit isn't found until I'm past it.

http://throttlebodys.com/Hyundai_002.jpg

Seen here is one such item. It's a stock 2.7L TB that's been bored to 60mm but due to casting variations, the cutter broke through when I was removing the step in the inlet. The repair amounted to filling the opening with JB Weld and making sure there was enough of the JB Weld on the outside of the TB that it would stay in place.

http://throttlebodys.com/Hyundai_003.jpg

so this idiot is selling throttle bodies he has grinded through and then patched with jbweld!!!!!!

DO YOU WANT TO BUY A JBWELDED PART FROM THIS GUY, LMAO!!!

That statement THAT HE MADE HIMSELF! should be enough to let you know his parts are crap!

Here is a direct quote from the seller trying to justify why I should not receive a refund (he does not want to refund his parts because he would have to raise prices and charge people more $$ for his non-working, defective jbwelded parts!)

So I'm contesting the Paypal dispute on this transaction. I think I've been fair in the matter and that the buyer has only changed his mind about his purchase.

I will continue to update this thread as I fight this dispute with paypal and get my refund.

Got 97 GST with:

3 Inch Down Pipe
3 inch Cat Back
Greddy RS type BOV
Injen Cold Intake
K&N Filter
Boost Gauge

Ok, I've just installed a 60mm throttle body on my 97 GST.
It has been bored out proffesionally by Professional throttle body machining service for the following make ($169.99)
this unit was direct bolt on to my car without having to do any mods to fit. (new gaskets were also included.

It really seems that I lost a lot of low end power.
I like my low end power like it was before to be honest with you guys...

Any comments or similar bad experieces about this mod out there?
Any solutions to improve low end power?

Please Help!

after reading that site first off it was a waste of money and 2nd jbweld and cutting the center shaft to increase flow.....not too sure about that one it's not a strong piece to begin with

Yep, a great waste. I installed one and logged additional airflow with my AEM with this being the only mod being done.

do you really think there's a difference between his 60mm jbwelded cut shaft throttle body and a 1g throttle body that you cut the shaft of? do enlighten me as i for sure don't know anything about the product. tell everyone what a good deal it is so they can go and waste their money

Ok, a decent used 1g throttle body is going to cost you about $50. Considering that in the least the tbody is going to be 13 years old with scale and unknown defects (leaky seals, cracked passages, bad/leaky plate, etc) it's a gamble.

so he made the throttle bodies?

the casting quality is horrible and

usually, shouldn't a TIG welder be used instead of jb weld?

look's like a oem products but the butterfly valve's look completly different.

Fact: This 2nd person Tim keeps referring to has never contacted me about a problem. He may be making this up. Sort of like an imaginary friend...
Fact, there's no JB Weld in his TB. He can't comprehend concepts too well.

Anyway I had Tim send his TB to a 3rd party and his SC Tiburon was fine with it. He's blaming the TB for lack of tuning or compressor surge and even posted on a forum before telling me he was having problems that he was going to get a refund and maybe buy one elsewhere. T
his was an item bought off Ebay. Ebay sales aren't refunded when the product works as described.
My feedback there speaks volumes about trustworthiness and fair dealing but I truly believe someone capable of slamming my business on every forum on the internetweb is also very capable of scamming me over this sale.

I'm sorry but I told Tim several times to just wait and see what Paypal says about this dispute. I'm willing to abide by their decision. The TB is still where Tim sent it for testing. He could ask to have it returned but I don't think that fits into the little serio-drama he's writing here.

900+ positive feedbacks on Ebay vs a nutjob. You decide...

That's all I have to say
Thanks
Steve

Explain compressor surge with a roots type s/c??? They operate using positive displacement.

I'm only familair with turbo'd cars having a GN so that explains my ignorance on the SC & compressor surge. In turbo cars it's common.
He did not explain the problem clearly anyway only saying "I finally got around to installing the throttle body today but I have a problem. It idles fine and when I rev it with the car in park it runs fine but under load when I am driving and give it gas the car sputters and wants to stall. " That is not a condition related to a defective TB. None of the hundreds of TBs I've done has exhibited this condition. I asked if he'd be willing to let a 3rd party test the TB and he did. That person said it was fine but had told him that if he didn't find anything wrong with it he was going to request a refund. Seems to me he just changed his mind. Real world doesn't refund on good parts when installed. This kid isn't able to accept responsibility for a problem his car has and blames the part, blasts the vendor and makes up lies. I replied with an explanation on the forum he runs and he banned me when he saw it. Read these posts and see for yourself:

exactly, lol.

So now he is trying to say bagpiper does not exist, lmao!!

Here you go, proof positive that bagpiper exists and that he has the same issues with your piece of crap throttle body that I do (same link as in my first post):

bbtb issues - Hyundai House of Power

he is a scammer, plain and simple.

He sold me something that does not work and wants to keep both the throttle body and my money. What a scumbag.

Guess what Steve Monroe, you have a lot more forums to TRY and defend yourself on. I have posted this on 6 more, you better keep looking.

Hey everyone be sure to read up on WVStreets and on crookedH.com there is a lot of useful information over there on this piece of crap.

A little off topic but I found a company that does throttle bodies for Hondas and he OFFERS A WARRANTY on his products! The price is great and he gets rave reviews on honda sites. He even does group buys with prices under $100!! I would assume it may be a little more for tiburon throttle bodies since his volume work is with honda parts. I will try and locate a used throttle body and have him to work it for me and I will let you know how it goes. The best part is he offers a WARRANTY unlike the backwoods dishonest throttlebodys.com "company".

From what I read on his site, he can and does bore all makes/models of throttle bodies and his work looks top notch with no jbweld patches or epoxy patches, lol.

You are all fools of the highest calibre(s)

Go to a wreckers, open up any V8 Ford Crown vic cab, remove the 68 MM TB (with TPS and a bit of the wiring), get a spacer plate from behind the original TB, mate it up, extend 4 holes over, and bolt it on + wire it up. 1.5 hours of work, for what, $30?

although I am aware you can go that route, I do not want a ghetto mod on the car. My engine bay is nice and clean and I want to keep it that way. Also with the supercharger I have it requires you to rotate the throttle body and the stock throttle body BARELY clears so the larger throttle body would not work on my car without significant modifications. Also, that would require me to hack up my SRI which I am not willing to do.

I want to keep my bay looking nice and the 1.5 hours work you claim would be more like 10+ hours work by the time I re-routed wire harnesses, vac lines and other issues to make room for the larger throttle body then hack up my sri. no thanks. I am not so desperate for money that I need to resort to ghetto modifications. Thanks anyway.

If you're not interested in saving money, why buy an iffy product from eBay?

Suit yourself, Spikie did it on his accent, and polished the TB. NO ONE can tell it's a ford part at all. The raised ridges on the TB also make it look really cool, and the reflectiveness adds to the look under the hood. And guess what: IT WORKS.
