Default Forum gone to shit? i think so.

is it just me, or has this forum gone down the gurgler?

i haven't been here as long as some, but i'm noticing that a lot of questions that people ask are either not being answered, or being answered with sarcasm or crap. Use the search function everyone says, yes that's true, but a lot of the posts are out-dated or even with searching, you cannot find the answers you seek.

not to mention the spam that is on the site, i reckon that more than half of the registered members are spam.

i mean come on, this is a dedicated hyundai site, it should be a place of refuge and resource for hyundai drivers, but there is more bitching here than other generic car sites i've visited???

again, is it just me??

I'll likely get banned, but where are the moderators? And maybe make signing up a little bit harder to prevent as much spam.

want to know why i don't use the search function?

it sucks dick

i search for something very specific, maybe a 4 or 5 word search, and i get 20+ pages of shit. threads with over 10 pages of posts just to find that the words i'm looking for pop up in unrelated sentences and statements. honestly, how anyone would manage to use the search function and actually get something out of it would surprise the shit out of me.

this site needs major clean up, keep the stickies and clean up shit that hasn't been touched in over 9 months. if it was good and hard to find information, it's stickied. if a thread has pictures that actually pertain to CARS and HYUNDAIS then i'd keep those too.

i'm on here every day because i have to sit in front of a computer for 3+ hours a day doing homework and i need something to keep me distracted. and reading the Flame and Off-Topic threads, which make up over 50% of the threads on this site, or reading the threads filled with ABSOLUTELY NOTHING posted by Tak, Floyd, or Wilbur do a damn good job of keeping me distracted.

I'm not hating on anything except that it wouldn't take much to make this a forum that's actually related to HYUNDAI PERFORMANCE. And don't suggest I fix shit up, I don't have to time or know-how, but some people took this responsibility a long time ago and if they don't have the time or heart to do it anymore should pass the torch, but it also seems like no one who has the ability to do this is around anymore...

I somewhat agree and somewhat disagree! I agree cuz sumtimes my questions dont get answered rite away all the time and most of the posts are in the flame, as is this one! But I disagree also cuz the help I have received has helped me out a lot, Floyd, Nick and Gabe have all helped me out alot cuz even though it says that I am a senior member I havent been here that long and I still have questions! I dont think anyone has really ever told me to use the search and any sarcasm is normally ended up with the answers I need so even though the answers start out as sarcasm it ends with the help I need!

Yes, but krystal, you get more help than most because:
  1. You're a gal. Not as many of them in the car scene.
  2. There are alot of active members near where you live. Most of the country isn't this closely knit.

It would be great if this sight had some new mods and an owner that can clean it up. Maybe the old owner (Rob) can give us contact info of the new owner so we can get him involved. I seem to remember the new owner posting a few times after he took over then dissapaered. This is the only site that i look at daily and I would love to see it return to the glory days of like 3-4 years ago. I also miss all the sh!t that autobot used to start when he was supposed to be stopping that sort of stuff.

The new owner is a corporation. Steve was simply an administrator meant to keep the site from crashing.

I have noticed that once sum1 sells to a corporation it normally does go to
sh!t after that! For example, (dont get me wrong I do like Myspace) but as soon as Tom sold it to a corporation, it had a lot more problems than when Tom was over it!
