Default why i hate them..

Why SUVs Suck and Why Do So Many People Buy SUVs

sure, there are some people that actually use their suv's properly but driving it like it's a car..well that's another story..

the people that buy it for it's v8 and slapping on the 23's are the stupid dumb people who have no regards for the people passenger car's or about the enviroment..

i hope gas price's go up to $4.00 so i can really see them suffer..to separate the people who buy suv's for trends and struggling with bills to people who can afford one like it's a 2nd hand vehicle.

i know i'm beefing about suv's but it's a sign of a very stupid trend and also a sign of the big 3 flexing it's capitalistic muscles with their cash cow suv's.

PROS:
loads of space..space for 8 or more
v8 power,safe,4wd,

CONS:Gas mileage,earth purist's love to arsonize them,
crash compatibility with cars is life threatening to car owners, obstructive view, soccer mom, suburbia mom, hollywood star stigma..controversial issues about global warming surrounding it

my opinion:why not just get a minivan?
since that's all they ever use it for,

i could go to a gas station, see a guy fillin his suv, fill my car up, go in the mart and have a hot dog, finish it and have a coke on the way back to my car and leave and he'd still he filling his tank.

i think the mazda 5 is one fo the smartest ways to an alternative to a suv..

it's peppy, handles great, looks sporty and it's the anti-suv, forget 4wd systems on suv's they're hardly used..

Go Doug!!

Mazda... and minivan? WTF I could have sworn this is a hyundai site, not a damned middle age let's ask about mileage and "appeal" of a minivan. Bullshit. Minivans don't have "pep", they have struggling transmissions that are designed for cars.

No minivan. Ever. The biggest car I will ever get (for daily use) will be no more than a 3 liter midsize. Probably less. 2.5.

Mine has a 2.3 in it and it is a car. It is a slightly larger 3 with sliding doors and another back seat. It handles way better than my car did stock even with it being taller. Power? Id run it against more than a few auto hyundais and come out with a win. (also its called a wagon if you ask the insurance companies, not a minivan)

Kia has the rondo, but after comparing it to what I got I am happy I didn't wait for the hyundai group to bring it out.

Why are you so angry about minivans? Did you get hit by one or something?

Okay...

Tell me this. If you had a chance to keep your family in a position where in 60% of the accidents that COULD occur, they would recieve minimal pain and damages... Would you do it?

That's the American way! I think of myself more than any other person, and if I could keep what is mine as safe as I could, I would definately do it. If it means that it costs me 50 dollars more a week in gas, I would definately pay for it.

That doesn't mean I own an SUV/Truck, even though they're widely popular here in Alaska. I perfer my little coupe over anything mainly because I perfer that style. But, think about it that way. Empathy is the key to understanding *^^*

The American way is highly ignorant. This article summarizes that, except that it's poorly written (typical american laziness) SUV's and Minivans are NOT safer than cars.

Point in case (one FTW) 98 Chevy venture vs Pony head on (150 KMH speed) Who gets knocked over? Who's engine required a distributor cap to continue (in another car but heh)

... the van was knocked onto it's side and it did not continue. Safer? Hah. NOTHING happened to the occupants of a (then 19y year old) subcompact korean car. The occupants of the van sustained minor injuries.

That is all.

people buying a suv or a truck to stay safe is a dumb decision..

most minivan's and crossover's are just about as safe as suv's are..

DAMN The GMT500's!!
