Default Korea and dog meat consumption

if there's one thing i'm bothered by korea..it's dog meat consumption

it's about as horrifying as watching animals getting skinned alive for their furs..

The koreans literally treat dog's as if they were chicken or some kind of ready to cook meat for dinner..they take all these beautiful and cute looking dog's and if a customer choose's one..the butcher grab's one and handles it so inhumanely and butcher's it alive..the dog's in the cage's know what's going on and go frantic and crazy knowing their fate is soon at hand of some fuckhead korean looking to fill their gawddamn stomach with dog meat!!
if that wasn't the worst part..the food that's given to the dog's in the cages is meat of nothing more that what was once left of their fellow canine friend

Doe's this mean they have their jindo's and eat them too?
if dog meat is something the korean's dip in sauce...then here's a big ass middle finger to what was a former 3rd world country..

i can't say i'm korean..i got japanese and korean blood in my veins so i have no country of origin..

You're making too many assumptions.

First of all, the dogs are not animals that used to be people's pets; they are not stray animals. The dogs are bred in a farm; raised in a farm; and butchered in the farm. Dog meat is considered a delicassy(sp?) in Korea. Not all Koreans eat dog, some refuse too.

People are ignorant in this subject because people think it's someone's pet, and it's not.

In Japan, they eat alot of horse. Like the dog, horses have been used as pets and a tool. When I tried horse in Japan, I absolutely loved it. Dog was ok and it taste exactly like Lamb meat.

Actually, when you call Korea "FORMER third world country", that's actually a compliment. You do know that Korea is the fastest rocovery country in the world, right? This "former third world country" is the digital capital of the world too.

i've seen dog's for sale in the local market in cages.
tourist's may think they're up for adoption but it's the opposite

You took the word's right out of my mouth on this issue..

but i don't want korea saying eating Dog is a Korean tradition..it's Not..people who say that are too full of their "Korean Culture"

dog meat has no health benefit's and is as good as eating Fatty Pork..

just because i hate korean's eating dog mean don't i hate korea..
but i've seen animal liberal's try to ban dog meat consumption in korea and what doe's korea say about this.."They say abolishment of dog meat consumption is a influence of the West"

Actually, dog meat is the healthiest red meat in the world. It has little or no fat, the meat is extremely tender and it has more protein than Beef.

that's why it cost like $80 a meal.

intra-species consumption (cannabalism) is where Mad Cow Disease started. Strangely enough, the same is NOT true for CJ Disease (human version of mad cow)

you're looking at this from the perspective of someone who considers dogs a pet. The french eat rabbit which lots of people consider "cute" and "cuddly" while some people view it as food.

from your viewpoint, eating cows, chicken, lamb, pigs, seafood, is all just as inhumane. they all are raised for the pure purpose of being a food item. the only reason people see this as wrong is because hey associate them with pets at home. take that part out of the picture, and they're just like any other animal.

So it's OK to treat some animals (chickens) poorly, but not others?

Go vegan then, that way your complaint would be legitimate.

I'm sorry...

This thread is both culturally ignorant and somewhat offending. Do people not understand that sometimes, cultures clash? Just because American culture adores dogs doesn't mean their views on the matter effects everyone on a global scale.

Koreans eat dog... Indians eat the brains of monkeys raw. Philipinos regularly eat chicken fetuses raw. (an egg that's been fertiziled and fermented) Why does it matter that the Korean society eat dog? We, as Americans, eat beef which is considered holy in the eyes of Hindus. We, as Americans, eat pork which is considered haneous and filthy in the eyes of Jews.

Grow up a tad, experience the world and enjoy it for what it is. When you answer your cell phone, use your computer, hell... Talk on the phone, remember, a dog eatter either designed, made, or is improving what you're using.

Howie~

P.S. Eatting dog isn't considered a tradition. Most Koreans dont' eat dog mainly because a lot of them are owners, but some do. Dog is considered medicinal and healthy to most of Asia as well as in a lot of European dogs. They're specially bred to be eatten, so your typical Jindo isn't on the evening meal
