I dunno, maybe I just interact with (mostly) people > x > to my level, I don't notice it, or worse, cannot fathom such mass stupidity. I also don't believe that any one is truly stupid, EVERYONE can better themselves, even those with actual brain deficiencies.
Come to think of it, I've seen a good part of the world, and perhaps now that I reflect on the interactions/surroundings in such places, I see that maybe I am too hopeful/naive/ignorant as to the real situation. Add that my EQ was also taken, and I was quite a bit below the norm on that one, and you can understand the "naive" part a little better.
No one's perfect.
If I have some time at work on Wednesday, I'll swing by the campus library, see what I can dig up. Mind you the library there holds books as old as York is, so my facts may only be pertinent to mid-century knowledge.
