I have a 1987 Excel and i was wondering if there are any kits that are available. What is the recommended shot for the engine. Is a 100 shot to big for this motor.

Umm first off, if you have a car with over 100,000 miles, I'd recommend not going over a 55 shot to start off. Secondly, the main kits out there come from Zex, Venom, NOS, NX, and there might be other companies that I can't think of at the moment. Currently, I am running a Zex 55hp dry shot, and have no problems at all. I personally would not recommend anywhere near a 100 shot unless your engine is still naturally aspirated and BUILT to the TEETH. It would have to be heavily internally modified to be able to withstand that shot. Also it requires about a 6 degree timing retard to accomplish. Maybe even a 8 degree. I would recommend for you if you're confident in the motor you have not crapping out from being pushed hard, a 55 shot of Zex. It's easy as hell to install, and very easy to use.

the amount of wear and tear on your engine worries me...

The guy is right.. stick with a 55... if you REALLY want to go that route..
