T3/T4 may take a bit to get spooled up. T25 is rumored to be one of the best for the 1.6L

20g would be great with the 2.0L for sure... as would the t28. Shops are usually hit or miss for engine builds, just gotta shop around and remember you get what you pay for.

Im using a Mitsubishi 14B and it spools about 2,500rpm and hits 5 psi by 3k rpm and they are good to 300hp or 15-16psi. Plus they are cheeper. since it goes with your thread Im also selling a turbo manifold for the 1.6 that has a Mitsubishi flange good for the 14b and 16G...just FYI

As far as numbers i got 143 whp and 136trq tuned at 5 psi thats 53 whp over stock.

Check out subaru turbos(mitsubishi based) ie the TF035 used on subaru Forresters or the TD04 used on WRX turbos. Cheap, small and fast spool. The TF035 is a smaller version of the WRX turbo and has a standard wastegate pressure around 6-7psi. Easy bolt on ugrade to the also cheap TD04 when you upgrade as they are around 10psi wategate press(too much to begin with unless you use an external gate-overkill for basic turbo). If you want to go nuts after the td04, you can follw the WRX boys and get an IHI turbo

The tf035 is ultra cheap due to it being the smallest and they all upgrade to WRX turbos, the WRX turbos are cheap because they all want IHI's

Put it this way, I bought a tf035 here in australia for $50au which is about $35US and they are safe up to and over 15psi(if your engine can take it) and over 200hp at the wheels(again, only on a built engine)

yeah...where did you hear that? I'm running 7-9psi DD on my 1.6 as last year. havnt tuned it yet but its getting there...first thing to go bad is the rings, then at about 15psi the head gasket goes bye bye. So far thats the only damage Ive heard done besides improper air/fuel.
