I got the AEM FI/C 6. The 30-1910 model that says its universal. I still haven't got the time to start wiring it up, but seems pretty straight foward. I got the ecu pin out from HMA service website and it seems pretty clear. The only wire I'm a little unsure about is the one marked "sensor ground". Not sure if this one should go the chassis ground or to the MAF sensor circuit ground. Props on the build bro, looks awesome. I got mine up and running stock as a daily drive right now since im still missing some parts. I'm gonna be running it bone stock with stock pistons for now. I think I'll hold up 7 psi no sweat. I got some 42lbs/hr ford mustang bosch injectors and a walbro 255 in-tank. Thanks for the reply!

nice. the same unit as mine
i got my ecu pinout from official hyundai dealer directly ( sometime there a difference between US and CAN model so i was sure i got the good one ).

for the sensor ground , i tapped all 3 fic ground together and it work great.

WARNING ABOUT CAM AND CRANK SENSOR !!!!
mine have cam and crank HALL style sensor ( 3 wires ) but in reality the crank sensor is a MAG style sensor with 3 wire. some BMW owner has the same trouble wiring it right for the same reason.
my brother 03 Gs accent had cam hall and crank mag ( cam 3 wire crank 2 wire ). the black wire on my crank sensor do NOTHING at all so its like a 2 wire MAG style sensor. check them carefully !

this is not civic dude ! civic and most honda can handle 5-7 psi bone stock...and will not last over a year... accent can handle easy 10 psi or even 12 with a real pro tune with stock internal.

im running 10 psi , 302 500km , does take a bit of oil , bone stock internals.
the day i get rid of it i will have fun trying to blow it at 20-50 psi
if it dont blow then its my futur sand rail buggy engine without the turbo.

here a video i made only for you

Default Sweet!!

Wow I didn't know yours was an automatic like mine. Its good to see someone on the same track. Thanks for the heads up on the crank sensor. I work at autozone so as soon as I saw your post I looked up the part numbers on the PC and you are 100% correct. 99 accent uses a different, but identical looking crank sensor vs the 96 accent. Mine is 96 and it has a different crank sensor part number than yours 99. I will check that out when I start wiring this thing up. Yesterday I got my Blow off valve, boost gauge and some other stuff. Still waiting for a new intercooler (one I had was too big), and some hoses and clamps. What turbo are you running? I got a .50 .63 hybrid from ebay (I hope it spools up lol...) and I was also worried about the tune, how much timing retard do you run per psi of boost? I was thinking like -1 or -1.25 per psi. In your case I see its really cold out there! But I live in Puerto Rico where it can get really hot so I have to worry about detonation... At what voltage did you clamp the MAF on the AEM FIC? Thanks a lot and sorry for askin so much lol!

my turbo is a CXRacing T28 .42 .49 ( cxracing.com: T28 Turbo Turbocharger + Water Banjo Prelude Integra Civic Miata Audi )

i think your turbo is way too big. it depend on the turbo model. a t25/t28 .64 will spool faster than a t3t4 .63... the first turbo i ordered for my accent was a t04e ( t3t4 ) .50 .63 and wouldnt hit the first bit of boost ( 1 psi ) before 6k rpm which is our cutoff ( hmm... our cutoff is at 6.3k rpm but tranny change speed at 6k rpm ). i tried a t25 .63 and got 1 psi of boost at 4k rpm,
with my t28 .42/.49 i hit full boost ( 10 psi ) around 4k rpm which is PERFECT for street use.

for your ebay turbo , i have to tell you something... i am familiar with ebay turbo as i worked alot with them. people saying they are crap just don't know what they are talking about. its not garrett , but they are decent.
99% of ebay turbo are chinacharger. only CXRacing are USA made cheap turbo. but once again chinacharger are decent... you may have to rebuild it soon ( before 20 000km ) with garrett parts and you end up with a QUALITY turbo for less than 400$ while other people pay like 1200$+.
back in 2002 ebay turbo was real crap the housing was cracking but since 2006 the housing is decent. china evolve like everyone !

my timing is at -1 per psi of boost actually but i just created the basemap anddidnt touched it. its hard to tune properly when it only spin on snow lol.

my maf is clamped at 4.7v but this is a general rules... some car need to be clamped at 4.3v and i think 4.7 is too high. i need to wait till there no more snow on the road to be sure.

its a pleasure to help you bro !
we have the same car and im more advanced in the work than you so its normal to help you.

i don't know if you plan to put low profile tire on it but if you do in 17inch watch out for this

if you have other question i'm still around

Thanks! I added your facebook so I can see the pics. Here, this is a video I took some months ago from a friends turbo accent. This is one of the most decent accents we have here in PR. Its running 23 psi off a .63 garret. The engine is obviously fully built and it has SDS engine management. 96 accent X3 1.5 turbo pulls - YouTube

haha lots of power in there
23 psi fully built.. you mean with scoupe turbo parts ? i ask because a accent engine with turbo scoupe internals have been proven to handle 25 psi easy long long long time. we have a lots of them here in canada running 22-25 psi.

if its not scoupe parts , where he got forged parts from ?

No, this one is very different. This car is past 280 hp (not sure how much). It has forged connecting rods from some nissan engine (not sure), full floating wrist pin with vitara pistons, schneider turbo camshaft, head work, ford mustang 65mm TB, 750cc injectors, SDS full stand alone ECU revs to about 7800 RPM, and the turbo is huge (.60 .63 I think). It runs 23 psi but on a big turbo thats a lot compared to a small one. The best time this car ran was 7.8 sec on the 1/8 mile. It has full body, power steering, A/C, full interior (in other words, full weight). This is the guy that inspired me to get a Hyundai and build it. He got his ideas from a friend of his that died some time ago called "Misito" the owner of "La Pulga", one of the worlds fastest accents (it ran low 9 or high 8 I think). Look it up on youtube "La pulga accent" from Puerto Rico. We have some pretty fast hyundai here, but I'm just starting out on the hyundai world lol. I just want a daily driver with some spare power. I wanted to ask, how is the FIC datalogger working? Do you have the wideband o2 hooked up to it? Looking forward to see how your tuning goes. Thanks!

what a nice build !
i knew vitara piston direct fit on honda D16 engine but didn't know they would fit in our G4EK !

for the FIC logging there 2 option.
internal or PC logging.
internal logging store the data inside its 64kb internal memory.
short run logging , but really precise.
PC logging you need the fic plugged to the laptop while logging.
a bit less precise ( no change for street car... another story for race car ) but
endless logging.
my log is a 22min one lol

my glowshift wideband is plugged to the fic.
i have the analog output on the glowshift wideband controller connected to the fic AUX IN wire.
Elite 10 Color Series Wideband Air Fuel Gauge

my tuning is on the stop for now.... it is running " not too lean " on boost for now.
i can't tune it because of the snow. when tire spin it change everything.

another question ?
