I'm pretty sure the genesis coupe shouldn't be compared to those cars like that.
The only ways the coupe matches those cars in any way would be that they all have 2 doors and all claim to be tuner friendly.
The 370z is closer to a roadster.(dare I say more?) smaller lighter and stronger plus missing a half a cabin, compared to the genesis coupe.
The Mustang GT is a V8. (dare I say more?) tho this V8 has similar horse power the engines focus is in torque. (racing focus is also in torque)
I would love to see the 3.8 coupe drag race against a G37
and the 2.0T coupe drag race a Civic SI
even if the Genesis coupe dose not beat its competitors in a race there is a price difference.
Hyundai = Bang for the buck (not to be confused with fastest coupe)

very disappointed as well. I mean the gen coupe was hyped by hyundai as a competitor against the mustang. I think they should have used the v6 model for testing though.
I'm sure the genesis will out handle and stop quicker then the mustang.
not all comparisons to mustang were just a straight drag.

I got my numbers from Hyundaiusa.com if you say its wrong I urge you to sew for false advertisement.

S2000 is a 2.2L turbo charged engine. (Genesis is a 2.0L turbo charged)
S2000 still dosnt have as much standard torque as the Genesis Coupe.
S2000 makes a 18-25 mpg (Genesis Coupe Makes 21-30 {civic si makes 21-29})
S2000 and Civic SI both weigh +2850 (Genesis coupe weighs 3300)
you comparing the S2000 to the 2.0 Genesis is exactly like comparing an M coupe to an STI (not even in the same league)
thats also why I laugh when I see that genesis drag race the 370z
370z, Mazda Miata, Pontiac Solstice, S2000, M coupe, Saturn Sky. You get it now?

I dont know what 2 door 5 seater car any japans companies make but yes Hyundai did mention comparing a Mustang to a Genesis coupe v6.
I sold cars for a living and use to laugh at people comparing cars that are not relevant to each other.
I might understand comparing a G8 GT to a Genesis Sadan, but the Genesis is more directed toward luxury car shoppers where G8 is directed more toward sports shoppers

last time I went to the auto show i saw the S2000 with a turbo under the hood, and a couple of magazines were talking about the new turboed S2000.
I might have been looking at a model not out yet and assumed they all were alike, but my point was that its a roadster.
if you really think about it no Honda compares to the genesis coupe, but the civic SI is the closest thing to it they are relative in power, MPG, and body style.
civic SI still makes 6.7 second 0-60 and genesis coupe does 7 second
