They tune the i4 more in Korea for a few reasons.. The first one is simple, They are taxed on displacement... larger engine, means more cash out the pocket.

the i4 beta is a better candidate for turbo...
the v6 is heavier, but responds nicely to n/a mods... but is rumored to give out at ~250hp with stock internals.

Like nyne said...if you seriously plan on doing dome hardcore tuning (i.e. turbo) go with the I4. For mild NA tuning I'd start out with the V6. As for reliability, I know the V6 GT guys have been having alot of clutch/tranny issues. Also the engine is pretty limited in the hp it can handle without getting into big $$$$$ internal mods.

"There's no substitute for cubic inches" That's a 40 year old saying. You'd have to spend alot of your bread to get the same performance as this V6. It's just as relieable and you wouldn't have to "twist" the RPM's up either. A 4 cylinder (any brand) has to live in the higher RPM range to comp. the loss of torque in a smaller displacement engine. Now, your talking a shorter street life!

wow thats something to think about but speed and nyne both said that the v6 will blow at around 250hp but what i want would be around 300 hp and be safe i have serched on other sites and have found that the i4 has many more parts i asume thats because the i4 has been around alot longer well im just wandering if ne one knows the hp limit on the i4 and whats the mark you have to upgrade the internals and also how long would 300hp hold up before u have to work on the engine and tranny and i was wandering if ne one make internal parts for the v6 because ive serched high and low and nothing well someone fill me in on this thank u again for helping me make my mind up. (big help) lol late guys.:bored:

I believe the v6's head bolts will rip out at 250 hp. internals are just internals which can be replaced, but w/ the delta being fully alluminum, it warps when hot. at 250hp, not only will it soften from the heat, but the stress will rattle the bolts, ripping them out. and as you may know, there isnt much luck w/ re-threading.
the beta has an iron block-alum. head. the head bolts are mounted in the iron, which doesnt react so drastic to heat and such.

has nothing to do w/ internals(rings,hla's,ect..).

I am also deciding on V6 or I4... as well, did the auto tranmission improve in the GK tibs? or is it still questionable?
