Default Replace the engine? Or leave it?

I really dont want to change out the engine on the Tiburon if i do get the 2.7 V6, but lately all i hear from people is "yeah i swapped my engine out with (fill in the blank)". Just how much HP can you get the GT up to without actually swapping out the engine? I'd like to have as much as 600 maybe 7 but would i have to replace the engine to do it?

What on earth are you talking about?
I am gathering you don't habe a Tib yet but you are thinking about buying a GT and you want 600-700hp?

If that is the case, don't buy a Tib.
I mean realistically, if you pan on 600-700, you better buy an old mustang or something else with a V8. Although people have done it in Korea with the Beta (4cyl) I highly doubt you have the meens to do it yourself. It takes a ton of knowledge and a lot more money.

BTW, I doubt those people you talk to with engine swaps have 600+ hp.

Damien, help us to help you.

Let us know what your plans are, and where you plan to go with the car and what you intend to do with it. At the moment I have only one piece of advice; first get the car and learn how to drive it to its limits. You'll find that the stock Delta is already a boatload of fun; it might not be a monster by any means, but at 18 I'm guessing that you might have just gotten licenced. Please take the time to learn the car; 230 to the wheels is already plenty[if you just put a little money into it] if you know how to use it. 500-700bhp is just st00pid fast for a street car IMHO, no matter whats rolling around these days; one slip and you're either off the road or in a ditch.

600+hp in a front wheel drive is really not a good idea. Like AUTOBOT said get something else that has a V8 and I would recommend something with rear wheel drive. As it is with the 170hp the tiburon has a bit of torque steer, I can only imagine with 600+hp.

By the way if you really do want to swap the engine. I think T.C from nextgenerationmotorsports.com is selling engine blocks that will handle I think upto 800hp..for the tiburon..:bandit:

Sorry it took me so long to reply, been busy working alot. But anyways, i dont own a tiburon yet and i am going to buy the GT. Money isn't exactly scarce for me so dont think down on me in that area. I know how fast 230 to the wheels is, i only own a 96 Grand Prix with est. 170-180 with mods, but i've driven my brothers Z28 at about 285 Horses and my friends modified Eclipse at 302 estimated and neither are fast enough for me. As far as slipping up and going into a ditch or what not, well i've done that allready lol and like i said money isn't scarce for me, i can fix any damages from accidents, and i'm not stupid i know i could kill myself or someone else if i dont know how to drive it but i've been around cars all my life and i know how do drive well enough not to do anything beyond my ability. Also about it being FWD i was really hoping someone could link me to a place that either knows how to convert to RWD or something, i know it'd probably be expensive and not worth it for the money but hey, this is my dream car, i love it, i've driven 5 of them so far and i want one to be the best i can make it. I know it might not be worth it but hey, if you want to do it then why not do it? Thank you for any help you give me and any criticism is appreciated as well. Hope i dont end up sounding like an idiot

From what i've heard the long fabeled 250whp limit on the v6 tib has been proven wrong by NextGen. I believe he is at 300whp with his tib. So if your looking for power. You can stay with the v6.

In all honesty if you have money to burn, just get yourself a new Corvette or if you can wait and just get the 06 Z06 with 500HP.. Now that's a dream car..:bandit: I've really never seen a front to rear wheel drive conversion on the tiburon, but I have read about an all wheel drive one from streetconcepts, but I don't know if that thing even works..But go at it, that would be a very unique tiburon that's for sure..:bandit:
