Default ok how hard would it be to install the xg 3.5L?

ok so im looking at all my options for a good engine.i mean i like the i4 but realy the safe engine is still in my mind and the 2.7L is but the 2.7L is aluminum vs the cast iron 3.5L i know this would cost some money but im not shur if the 3.5L and the 2.7L have the same intake manifold.cause if i buy the 3.5L id want to put a supercharger on can ne one tell me if ne of the parts on the 3.5L are the same on the 2.7L? ty.jl

If you had the money to perform the swap you prolly wouldn't have purchased the Tiburon in the first place.

You are not the first person to think of this, it has been done. Not in the US but in Korea and the 6 spd bolted up to it(thats a plus). Here are some downsides to your theory.

1: Notice the torque stear with the 2.7? (if you ever drove one) Just imagine that but worse due to the heavier front engine placement.

2: Just cause the Alpine manifold fits, is it recommended to use on the 3.5? I don't think so I doubt anyone has tried it. Due to some of the earlier problems that they had when they came out with the air sensors etc..I think that would occur with the 3.5

ok ive drove the v6 and ur right the torque stear in the v6 is bad u can also feel it in the i4 vvt .ok so money is not an issue but are you for real the six speed bolted up to it and the intake manifoleds are the same .???how hard would it be to fine tune the 3.5Lwith a superchager ??do they make a limited slip for it and i know a machinestto do the slip think u can do it ?i dont know maybe it would sustain the torque steer let me know if maybe you heared ne stories cause the 3.5L would kill with it all hooked up lol let me know cya later .jl

That is what I heard, about manifolds I dunno to be honest with you I will find out.

This is if the SC manifold would fit, which I am not sure if that is feesible.

As far as tuning it, I am not sure if the Pulley situation will help (alpine revised the pulley for the SC late in the game)

LSD: I have not heard, let me ask some Korean shops and see, I am not sure the car will be too heavy in the nose, that was one of the major complaints from the owner of the car, besides the ECU work, and other mechanical problems with the swap.

I will see IF I can arrange a meet with him here in Seoul, and get pics.

IMHO: It isn't worth it....

Why don't you just turbo the I4? There's a guy at Newtiburon.com with a 289 or 298 whp I4 GK Tiburon.. That should be plenty of power, I think REAL had a turbo kit..Not sure though..My honest opinion, is that it would be easier to just turbo and modify the engine you have than to do a swap..It's too much trouble my friend had an NA 91 MR2 and he went and did an entire rear clip swap (tranny, engine, and other miscellaneous stuff) You will also have to get the ECU and several other components to get the car running..Just turbo your car man...:bandit:

eh..just goto the junk yard for the accent swap and turbo the Tib. Less work and you can get over 500 hp out of your 2.0 if you know what your doing.

so what you are saying is to get a 2.0L and swap that in to the accent and keep the 2.0L tib and turbo both?im thinking that would be alot less work instead of two swap theres one and i can still keep the tibb as an every day driver and get that accent to those hp #s .what do you think the 1/4 mile time would be ?ne way thanks on the eye opener cause i want to go fast still am going to keep my eye open on the 3.5L i have plenty of time to think and that where im going leave this i dont want to scrue up lol have fun ty.jl
