Default 03 Tiburon, should I get?

Hey guys I am about to get a 03 Tiburon V6, I was wondering how reliable these new Hyundai s are...I have horror stories of 1998-1999 models having major problems, but since there is an engine change, I am wondering if these things are still lemon? Thnx

My 4-cyl is doing fine.

Buy one, you won't regret it.

I don't know where you have heard that the '98-'99 Hyundais were bad. The Tibs and Elantras back then still use the same engines the do today with the exception of the V6. I currently own 2 beta powered Hyundais (2000 Tib and 2003 Elantra) and they are both great and share the same engine as all 4cyl Tibs and Elantras 1996 and newer.

I would say most of Hyundais problems were pre 1996 when they used cheap mitsubishi engines but they do continually make advances in their build quality.

I would say any Hyundai at this point is a good purchase.

I bought a 97 used for 6 grand. I now have 105,500 miles on it. The only thing that has been replaced (outside of normal maintenance) is a wheel bearing and a power steering pump (the pump still works fine, it just squeeks). It's great, fast enough for me, and trust me.... the chicks LOVE it.
