Default Euro gas tank door on the new Tibs??

Hey guys,

Does anyone know how the Euro style gas tank door open? I never really got a good up close look at one.I'm wondering if it's motorized or if it just opens by sticking your fingers in there and pulling it open.

I'm in the process of doing some body reconstruction to my 00 Tib,and I may try to intergrate one of those dealies.

It is opened mechanically by pulling the switch in the RD Tibs. If you know how to do the fabrication and body work it shouldn't be a problem. I would suggest you move the filler door up to the rounded portion of your rear fender since your the current location would look funny.

Yeah, where it sits now there are too many curves.

Just so you know, they do make kits that are designed to turn your square door in to a round door and they have the "race" looking filler door with them.

Autobot, where the hell do I get one of these kits???? I hope you're not gonna tell me about those stick-on things.

Also, the curves/contours won't be a problem.gre: I don't wanna say much about it right now,but I have some very cool work in progress.

Does the gas caps on the GK's have slits or something so that the cap can be placed on the edge of the door while pumping gas??Or do you just sit the gas cap on the car? I doubt that one.:dead:

Thanks

It has been a long time since I have seen the kits and honestly I have no clue where to get them. I saw them advetised in a mag and I don't even remember which mag it was.

AUTOBOT...........that's cool.Doesn't matter now, cause I got the door attached and blended into the car.I'm just wondering if the GK gas caps have a couple slits in there so you can hang it on the door while pumping gas.I'll probably just swing by the dealer and find out.
