Default I read a post and now Im bummed out!!!!

So I just read a post talking about the weakness in the V6 lower end. It was saying the bolts for the main bearing cradle will rip out on high HP. So should I not upgrade to a cold air intake and cat back exhaust? I don't plan on racing this car but I would like to be able to smoke someone at a light without ripping my engine apart.:gasmask:

Mate you can do alot to the car before you have to worry about that happening, when they are talking high HP they mean excess of 250kw+ so adding CAI and Exhaust shall not be a problem, you should only incounter a problem when you start thinking about forced induction and such.
Happy tuning.

trust me...a cai and catback will NOT even come CLOSE to damaging your engine. our exhausts are on MANY GKs, and not one comes close to breaking down. and the 250whp rumor? it seems to be on the earlier korean productions. you know why i say that? cause...we have many people at least 250 WHP on newtiburon...so i wouldn't worry about a CAI and exhaust...

Just like when your buying milk, check the date. That myth has been debunked by a few hundred horsepower.

Cool guys. Thanks. I just didn't want to mess up my engine. I'm really happy with this ride and would like to keep it around for awhile.

When you mention about the first production of the tibs, did you mean the first ones they made of the 03 ones
because I got my tib back in Nov. in 2002, so if I want to increase the HP will there be n e type of trouble with my engine???:hmmm:

I don't know about the first production tibs in Korea but you will be fine with the '03 GK's.

There's a couple of nice superchargers out there that people have been running for a couple years now, and I haven't seen any one upset about wrecking there engine yet. Next Gen has been using the alpine supercharger and has a couple cars runnung up around 300 HP. Ripp Mods has theres in production now as well and there pumping close to 300 hp as well. (all HIGHLY modified cars) I think the basic superchargers get you 225-250 hp SAFELY. ALpine even gives a basic warenty when you buy one. You can see the price in the store on this web site. Around 3000 depending on options.

We have 1 car making 345 whp on a COMPLETELY STOCK BLOCK with a stage 2 kit and so with prototype tuning (which is evolving as we speak) and he has been doing so for several thousand miles, and also the CEO's car is making 337 (at last dyno) with only a set of pistons at 11 psi.
