Default Open Air Intake - I want opinions please

Ok guys, I am ready to slap down some cash and get an Open Air Intake for my 2005
GT V6 Tiburon 2.7L. I do not want to cut any holes in the wheel well or do any cutting for that matter. Which Open Air Intakes should I be looking at? Also, am I making a mistake by even looking on Ebay? After looking on Ebay I see pictures that look almost exactly like the 200 dollars intakes for 1/4 the cost. Help me out guys, I don't want to make a major blunder here.

as far as I know all the cold air intakes require you to widen the gap leading to the fenderwell because there is no way the 3 inch pipe will fit. you need to look into the injen short ram intake for a great quality piece or just make your own short ram intake, or you could take the cheapest way out and just throw a cone filter on the end of your mass air flow sensor. none of the options I mentioned require any cutting or bending.
good luck

Good point, I have seen the short open air intakes and it extends to the side of the battery or slightly near it. This looks to me as if I would not need to cut anything at all. I also have looked at the long open air intakes; these appear to extend down and below the battery and twist and turn in all directions thus possibily requiring me to cut a little to get the perfect position for the end if the intake. I want to purchase a long open air intake so I can get as far away from the engine as possbile to get the cooler air but I don't want to go cutting on stuff. Has anyone out there used a long open air intake on V6 Tiburon and what was your experience like? Any particular model numbers I should aim for?

It's great to see two other people being cautious about our purchases. I will be waiting to see how the ebay auction went so post your experience. Between the three of us we should end up with something good.

If you're concerned about a CAI, get the Injen Short Ram Intake. It's a plug and play intake that has shown similar whp number increases as a CAI. Having said that, who drives with the hood up, lol.

The ebay CAI, WILL go down into the wheel well, through the hole. I have it, but I did not have to cut anything, I just wedged it down there and bolted it down. Sounds great, works great no complaints.
