Default Cold Air Induction for 2005 Tib V6 GT

I just finished installing my cold air induction into 2005 GT V6 Tib. I started it up and listened to it idle. I gave it a little gas and listened to it very closely. I think I can hear the air whistle through the pipe. Is this normal? I took it for a test drive and when I romp on the gas I can really hear the air moving through the pipe now is this normal? I have no alarms or warnings going off so I assume I did it right. Both pipes are locked together snug and everything is nice and tight so all air must pass though the air filter located in the wheel well now. If anyone has done this and remembers the new sound they heard can you please send word? It would make me feel more comfortable as this is the first time I have actually taken a non-broken part off my car on purpose.

As long as your connectors are nice and tight, you shouldn't have a problem. Mine makes a hollow sucking noises that's normal.

Basically in a nutshell "can a car get too much airflow?" Is my car getting too much unrestrcited air? Do I need to fine tune anything now or make a change to something or is my car going to automatically adjust the computer chip for the change in the airflow?

Nope. As long as the pipe is around 3" in diameter, you will be fine. Most manufactured intakes are tuned already to get the best airflow.

To reset your ECU to adapt to the way you are driving, you can disconnect the negative side of your battery, press the brakes for 30 secs (to drain all power that might still be in the system), and then reconnect. After you reconnect it, drive your car hard for about 20 minutes. It will adjust to the more agressive driving style that you may have picked up because of the power increase BUT you don't have to do this.

theirs a long bolt that secures that round thingy (i think its the horn) anyways it sits between your battery and intake, it may look like your intake cleared it but its doesnt when your driving on the freeway, it almost dug a whole into my lower intake pipe, lucky noticed it before it went all the way through. you may want to inspect your pipes...

if this is happening to you, you can switch that bolt out with a battery mont bolt.

yeah i installed an aem cai on my 2005 tiburon 4cyl and i get the same whinning noise. the only problem i have is that there is this piece of the old air intake that i guess regulates or checks the air coming into the engine. now i have a loose cord hanging around. does anyone know what to do about that piece. ps the itake sounds great and makes the car pick up a whole lot faster!
