Default Hello and Thinking about buying 03 GT6spd

Hello everyone,

I am new to this site and looking forward to owning a tiburon. The one I am looking at seemed to be in good shape. It did have the V6 6spd and drove well.

The hitch was when shifting into 1st it would grind once in a while. Any suggestions about that? From reading reviews these cars have a history of clutch problems? Which I really would like to stay away from if this may be an early sign on it.

Also here is the link to the car:

It does have a CAI and the aftermarket tails... other than that it was pretty much stock.

Any opinions would be greatly arreciated.

EDIT:
After doing some more searching on this site i think my mind is made up about this car. From what i have read the grinding when shifting is a sign of the cluth/synchros going out. This is not something that I will be able to afford shortly after buying the car. If I interpreted this wrong please let me know... otherwise the search will continue.

thanks
Randy

well after looking over that car online i would have to say to stay away from that dealership. $8,000 for a 03 tib that from what i can tell besides being a V-6/6spd it has no options and somwhat high mileage.

yes the 03 tiburons with the 6spd also have clutch wear/breakage problems i had to replace mine at 38,000 miles. i would check your area and if nothing search farther south to find a tib without as many miles and mabey a 04 or newer.

Yea, definitely stay away from all '03 model Tiburons. If I were you, I would get an '05 or a '06. I like their front bumper better than the one on the '03 and '04 and Hyundai improved the clutch on the '05-06.

If you're okay with the front bumper on an '04, an '04 would be a good choice too. I currently drive a 5-spd manual '04 with 62,000 miles and the clutch is still good.
