I have plantar fascaitis in my right foot. I've had the cortizone shots and therapy, and the pain keeps coming back(I know my weight is a huge factor). I was given Bextra by my Doc, but am reluctant to take it. My reason is that when I had back-pain, my doctor in CA gave me Duract, then I find that it caused liver damage...
Will the Bextra have bad side effects? What should I worry about? I'm on nop iother meds...I was taking Ibuprofen 600mg qid, but that caused some stomache lining probs. Other than that, no allergies, sensitivities, or problems.
I'm taking 10mg bid.
Suggestions?

Here's a link to potential side effects. This drug was introduced mid-late 2001 and or early 2002. Click on this link to see the side effects http://www.stevensjohnsonsyndrome.com/bextra_valdecoxib.htm?source=overture"
You should probably go to physical therapy and or see a chiropractor who has had training in Extremities (aka arms, hands, legs, and feet.).
Loosing weight would also be in your best interest as well.

Most common side effects in clinical trials were headache, abdominal pain, dyspepsia, upper respiratory tract infection, nausea, and diarrhea, and were generally mild to moderate.
yikes...and that steven's johnson syndrome...jeez...maybe I'll just deal with the pain.
yeah, losing weight would help, but we have to work o the here and now...excuses...yaddayada.
I'm seeing my orthopedic guy at the end of this month, so hopefully, it all works out. I wouldn't mind getting my foot rubbed by that girl at the sports work place again though
thanks doc
