Yes, arthritus is not uncommon for teenagers. Try taking some Ginkobiloba (sp) it aids in lubricating the joints.

No, he does not surf the forums like we do. He is just an all around nice guy who like to help people out where he can.

Arthritis, although it is more common in older aged individuals can affect anyone at any age. It does sound similar to an arthritic type problem and or an overuse problem.

Does arthritis run in your family?

Do you use your hands to work with (physical labor)?

Do you feel this in both of your hands at the same time?

When you say hurt, do you mean aching, throbbing, stabbing, or burning type of pain?

Is the pain in the base of your fingers (those knuckles) or in the finger joints themselves?

I joined HP.com back in August of 2001 and searched the forums daily for information on how to tune and where to get aftermarket parts. At the present time, I occationally take a look over the boards when someone IM's me a link and wants me to check things out. However, this site has become so large that I can't keep up, nor do I have the time too. I try to be available to answer questions in the H and W forum as quickly as I can.

Do you crack your knuckles? It doesn't cause arthritis, but can cause some discomfort during sudden barometric pressure changes (my knees and knuckles will tell me when a storm is coming in).

Don't you mean glucosamine? Ginko is an herb that helps with circulation...

That is a definate sign that Osteo-arthritis is present. Yes, Glucosamine is better for Osteo-arthritis. 500mg of glucosamine a day for every 50 pounds of body weight.

Sounds like an inflammatory autoimmune type of arthritis and not the typical Osteo-arthritis most people get.

A blood work-up checking for Rheumatoid arthritis and other inflammatory conditions in the body should be done.
