Default Glass fibre tape - help fast!

Doc, or anyone...

I used this

it's a glass fibre tape for heat isolation.

Wrapped 4 layers of it around the intake tube, now I got MILLIONS of tiny tiny pieces of glass all over me!

For Heaven's sake, someone tell me how to get it off, I'll go crazy!

How to get it off my clothes

How to get it off ME

I'll go soak in water please advise what to do as soon as you read this, anyone. Any suggestion is welcome!

use the shower head to repeatedly rinse and DON'T RUB IT. It's gotta fall out on it's own. Although it's uncomfortable to ignore, if you're itching, scratching, or rubbing it, you could work it deeper into your skin.

Just accept that it's there and it'll work it's way out in a day or two of normal activity.

I seem to have rubbed it in...

But after the bath it's a bit better. I can handle it.

The problem is, everything I touched is "contaminated". And I was active for 2 hours before I realised what's going on.

Thanks, squirrel and tibby.

Doc, tell me will normal activity rub it deeper in, or will it go out of my skin?

i'M NOT A DOC, but i've installed insulation before.

Normal wear will cause most to fall out quickly. That's because you're constantly shedding your outer skin. A few pieces might get worked under a layer of skin or two, but as those layers surface, decompose, and fall off, the fiberglass will go with them.

True, I forgot about that. Thanks again. My trick with "glass is heavier than water" seem to have worked to a certain extent. For future notice for anyone who reads this

Or just wear gloves...

Ha Ha.
Now one will remember to use appropriate protective clothing. (includes face mask).

For god's sake dont touch or rub your eyes. It will all eventually come out of your body you will just have to put up with the itching. dont rub it, it can go in deeper. give it time, it will fall out.

And yes, I touched my eyes. Don't you dare think I didn't
