Default plaguing problem

A while back (maybe about a year now) I began to lose weight... a lot of weight, about 50-60 pounds in 6 months. I seem to have some trouble gaining any weight now, no matter what I eat, or how much I eat. I am finally gaining some weight back now. This, coupled with the fact that I can't seem to feel rested, i.e. I can sleep for 15 hours and then easily sleep for another 5. No matter what I feel constantly drained. It's really annoying as most of the time I don't feel like doing much of anything. This may not be that big of a deal, but I used to be the kind of person that got up at 4:30 and worked out.

Initially I figured it was Anemia but it was confirmed that my blood had enough iron in it to supply a nail factory.

Could this be some kind of glandular problem? If I had any idea what to ask a doctor to check for I would have some tests done, but since there are many things it could be I would like to get an idea first.

Check your thyroid, get a CBC, urinalysis, and possibly a bone scan (possibly to rule out cancer). Alot of times sudden weight loss like that means cancer may be present, this needs to be ruled out. Unless you were dieting and or exercising while loosing the weight then that should be ok.

I'm suprised that you waited this long to see your doctor. He or she would know what to test for with the symptoms you are experiencing.

Go see your physician.

Well, I went to the doctor to get some blood tests done and for starters I have mono now, which sucks. I won't know what else is wrong until I get the other tests back. Fun stuff!

Thanks for the update. I had Mono back in 2003...I understand what you're going through. Speedy recovery, but make sure to get plenty of rest and drink alot of water.
