Seizures??

Hey Doc I was diagnosed with Epileptic Seaizures when I was about seven and they put me on Depakote I believe it was...well I took those meds for I dont know five or six years maybe less and the seizures subsided to the point where my doctor thought they were gone...mine were just black out type ones for anyone who was wondering not the compulsive ones where you shake! But I have been off of those for several years now...Im 21 now and it had even gotten to the point to where my parents were afraid I wouldn't be able to drive...luckily I can!

Well to make a long story short I was wondering what could trigger these again...I know that rapid lights (strobe lights, etc.) could cause these and what are the odds of them coming back? I am sure I probably have little tiny ones every now and than, I have learned to live with the side effects...for instance I only hear every other word but I have learned to "fill in the blanks" My worst fear right now at this point, since I am independant and on my own, is getting them again and not being able to do the things that I can do now!

Sounds like you've done great so far and I'm sure that will continue. Alot of people outgrow these type of seizures, just like people do with allergies as they get older.

Oh ok...I dont think I was ever informed that most people with these types of seizures outgrow them...so I probably have no chance to very slim of getting them again! Thats good, I like driving and being on my own and I dont wanna give those rights up!
