Default 75% kidney failure

My mom has off the chart high blood pressure and has for years.

She started fainting randomly.

went for tests found out her heart stops when she is fainting

also found out that she has 75% kidney failure

she also dosen't eat at all. she lost 25 lbs last month.

she is going for surgery to remove a blood clot near her kidney

I don't have any questions but do you have any comments. Will all this clear up when she gets over her kidney failure?

Hey mate,

I've heard of people living with just one kidney. Is your mom going through dialysis, if not, I guess its not as bad as you think coz I've got a mate who's had major kidney prob, he's going through dialysis and he said that if you don't need dialysis, your kidney function is not too bad. That's as much as I know about kidney problems.

Hope things turn out ok for your mom.

hey man sorry to hear about your mom. i know how you feel. about this time last year my mom started feelin kinda run down and just crappy in general. she started having some abdominal pain but just figured it was a kidney stone. after three days my dad finally convinced her to go to the hospital cuz the pain wasnt going away. it turned out that she had a tumor on her left kidney! her kidney had stopped working and was deteriorating. she had surgery a week later where they removed the kidney, the tumor, and some surrounding tissue. she has had to adjust her lifestyle a little bit (i.e. changing her diet and getting more exercise). but she lives a perfectly normal life. she only has the one kidney and it works perfectly. keep your head up man! she is going to need all the support you can give her! pm me if you need to talk.
