Default Extreme backpain!

Doc,

A couple years ago I got home from work and I was trying to be quiet bringing one of our cats downstairs to the room we kept them in (laundry room) well I was walking down the stairs which happened to be wood and I was wearing socks, slipped and fell! And just by chance the cat I was carrying was the only one we had with claws and I wasnt able to drop her in time to catch myself! I fell down the stairs and landed at the bottom where I sat there for several min. trying to catch my breath (amazingly I didnt wake anyone in the house, which actually probably would've been better for me)

Well last year my dad and I went to a fair and we were walking in one of the exhibition halls and they had a chiropractor there doing free exams so my dad and I both had one done...come to find out my back is out of alignment in 5 different spots 2 of which were where I fell and landed on the stairs...the only problem is that they aren't outta alignment to the left or right how it normally is but pushed in!! OUCH!! And ever since than I have occassionally had extreme back pain in those areas (worse in my lower back) to where I cant even stand up straight! Would a chiropractor be able to do anything with an un-alignment like that or should I go or do something else for it! I have tried yoga and it seems to help a little bit but not much???

Chiropractic can and has helped alot of people with back pain. The only way you'll know if it will help is to get checked and through a couple weeks of recommended treatment. I do expect you to get sore after the first couple of treatments but after that you should start to feel better.

Ok I was just wondering if it would be harder for a chiropractor to fix my spine considering that the two main points of pain are pushed in rather than to the sides

You need to get a doctor to prescribe you vicodin or percoset. or the generic equivalent. You'll feel alot better, I trashed my back years ago and thats pretty much the only thing that works. I was recommended surgery, but there was no guarantee that it would work. Plus I would lose alot of movement.

Yeah it only hurts like once every three months but when it does its right in my lower back and I cant even stand up straight! trust me vicodin would sound really good but I love to drive my car and I wouldnt be able to if I were on that cuz that stuff knocks me out so I always end up popping like three ibuprofren!! LOL!!

you might want to get an xray to confirm whats up/down/sideways...

as well, if some back injuries aren't treated soon, the large muscles go into spasm (permanent contraction/lock) to protect the injured joint. then it's hard for any physiotherapy to loosen up the joints unless you get massage therapy first to loosen the muscles. at least thats what happened to me.

good luck
