Default Daily Aspirin

err what's up doc?

My old man has heard that taking aspirin daily has many benefits and few repercussion (Allegedly good for the heart, for instance).

I could probably search and find many contradictory articles on this topic, but what are your thoughts? Is there any reason for a healthy individual (45yrs) to take aspirin daily?

cheers,

B

There isn't a reason for a healthy individual to take daily asprin.

First off, it's not great for the kidneys nor the liver. Added chemicals to the body stress out those organs because of their major function of filtering out harsh chemicals from the body. Also, asprin's main function basically thins out the blood... That helps older people with heart problem's because it lets the blood slip past partially blocked arties and veins easier and more efficiently. A healthy individual does not need this at all.

If your pops is interested in doing this, tell him to eat a bowl of cherrios, stop eatting processed foods, and go on daily walks. It'll be better for his heart, his mind, and his body in general than taking some stinkin asprin.

Thanks Howie, Great info and the answer I was looking for.

I was puzzled myself, as he's very active (runs/goes to the gym/bikes more than me). Must have been ill-informed by someone!

Unless you need to thin your blood, you don't need to take aspirin on a daily basis.

Drink plenty of water
exercise regularly (consistently)
Eat healthy (fruits and vegetables)

That's what everyone who wants to be healthy should do.
