Default Bladder pain

Doc,

I stayed up late working on a car and to stay awake I drank a 2 liter of Diet Pepsi Max over the course of maybe an hour and a half. Shortly after finishing the 2 liter I decided to go to sleep. I woke up several hours later having to urinate worse than I ever have and when I did I would estimate it was probably in excess of one liter in volume. It did not hurt to urinate, it hurt like my bladder was going to burst until I urinated. That was Saturday night. It's Tuesday now and ever since it has felt like I have to urinate almost constantly and I get discomfort/pain in my bladder if it's been more than a couple of hours since I've gone. When I do urinate it doesn't hurt and I have nothing out of the ordinary going on to make me think anything is wrong. As soon as I empty my bladder there is no pain or discomfort at all and it doesn't return for an hour or more.

Did I just stretch my bladder and it's sore now but will recover or is this something I should be more concerned about? It has been hurting progressively less but it's taking longer than I thought it would to recover so I'm a bit concerned. I don't think it seems like a UTI but I'm not a doctor either.

Thanks in advance!

You most likely stretched your bladder. Any blood in urine? There is also a chance you might have torn it a little to, if it doesn't keep getting better after the next 2-3 days or if it gets worse get in to see physician/MD or go to ER. Otherwise it should get better on it's own.

Ok, thanks!

No blood in urine whatsoever. Nothing out of the ordinary besides the pain. It's been getting better slowly so it'll probably keep feeling better but if not I'll go to the doctor.

Thanks again!

Just reading the title, I was gonna suggest it was from this weekends activities, but I was gonna fault all the epoxy that you drank.

I agree with Doc, when I first read it it sounded like a possible UTI or Bladder infection except for the no pain when urinating!! I know that when I had mine back in November it was probably the most painfull thing I have ever been thru!! It sucked so it sounds like you lucked out fortunately for you!!

Hope you get better and if not definately go see a doctor!!

Any reasonable way this could be connected to moderate general lower abdomen discomfort and cramping with diarrhea?

The pain is moderate, but for the time being bearable except for when it cramps up. Then it's not very bearable. Plus I'm feeling pretty nauseous and I think I'm going to vomit soon.

Just a little update.. he's sleeping now. If he feels bad tomorrow on when he wakes up we are going to the er. He had a lot of pain when he got home and thinks he may be running a fever, but the kid lost the thermometors (3 of them) so we don't know for sure if he is or not. he doesn't feel hot to the touch but he has the chills and he says his he is cold. He almost threw up on the way home sever times... but managed to keep it in. We will keep you updated on how he's doing.

I'm better now, but I lost 9 pounds overnight from diarrhea, etc. I'm feeling fine now or I would go to the doctor.

On the plus side my bladder doesn't hurt anymore either.
