I know ppl swap mitsubishi motors in older accents and Elantra but can I swap one in a 1999 Accent. If so what size would be best suited?
umm, according to some...you can put a NA 2.0 eclipse motor in a tib somewhat easy, b.c it is all on the same sides...but the turbo models are on the opposite sides!
again it is alot of money!
The hardest part about trying to put a Mitsu engine in a Tib or Elantra would be the wiring and the engine/tranny mounts. Unfortunately since we are not main stream for aftermarket most of these mounts would have to be fabricated. On top of that your axles and intermediate shafts would have to be custom made. There are differences in axle thickness, length and spine count not to mention hub differences.
There are are tons more things that I am forgetting but you can get the general idea.
The N/A motors that you are refering to Turbo are from the Non Turbo Second Gen Eclipse's, those motors are actually A420 motors and are the same as the Neon R/T's, as far as that motor swapping in it maybe would but it would still be a challenge.
