you can swap the whole guage cluster but you have to rewire all the wires at the back since they are different with the tach.. that's why i just put an aftermarket one.. someone put up a website on how to do it.. just use the search it's been covered about a million times... you'll find a link somewhere

anyone know where it is now??? i've got it in hardcopy and will post tomorrow nite if it doesn't surface before then.

but i ended up going with a small tach too, on the A pillar. seems to make other cars curious.

for the 8 pages on how to swap dash boards, go here and click NEXT another 7 pages. i think this was for a 99 accent. since i'm running out of space, i'll leave it up for a week or so:

hope this helps.

Hey 99mini, just a suggestion if you get sick of your autometer tach being way too bright, pull it out of the cup, look at the back where a red and black thin wires enter through a small hole(pretty sure there the colours only two anyway), cut the black wire which is the earth for the globe making sure you have enough length they are pretty long, solder on a long earth wire and connect it back to the factory dimmer for your dash lights, it should now dim with the dash lights. To figure out where to connect into the dimmer use a test light to find the right earth.

thx for the dimmer switch idea. been added to the project list.

the front wheels are 14" off an early tiburon or elantra from a wrecker. about $225 (CDN) each new from a hyundai dealer. width is 5.5" i think.

i've found the finish on new hyundai wheels isn't very good (paint flakes off). i'd prefer gettting them from a wrecker and get them refinished at about $125 per wheel http://www.wheelfix.com

the 6" centre caps have been removed in the photos cause they look too bulky. here's some pics with and without the caps:

http://ca.photos.yahoo.com/bc/duncantoronto/lst?.dir=/My+Photos&.src=ph&.order=&.view=t&.done=http%3a//photos.yahoo.com/

got some 15" konig traffic wheels on order. looking forward to seeing the spikie swap too
