Default 1.5 16v valve cover on 1.5 scoupe sohc turbo?

Hi guys,

Maybe it's stupid, but I was thinking, what about installing the valve covers of a 1.5l dohc engine(accent) on the 1.5 sohc turbo engine? Will this be a huge struggle, is it worth tryin or actually impossible?

Thanx in advance

regards

Freek

Notice that the valve cover is alot bigger on a Doch motor compared to a sohc. Also Why would you want put a DOHC valve cover on a SOHC engine. kinda false advertisement IMO.
:hmmm:
ah well peace man

Yo, what I mean is to make my 12v engine turbo a 16 v turbo, with double cams, more revs, more efficient inlet and outlet...etc ?

Then you mean head replacement. I haven't looked into that at all, but I would tell you it is not worth the effort(if even possible). The dohc motor only had about 10 more hp, even though it may be able to rev higher your gains from converting to dohc would be minimal. If you want higher revs you might look into aftermarket ecu or piggy backs and maybe working on the valvetrain itself with stiffer springs and maybe getting
a higher duration cam if available. Actually what it would be best is to just swap out motors for all that trouble. You must remember that that motor is not designed for those higher revs so one might encounter reliability problems.

The DOHC head will not fit on the SOHC motor. Moving to Hybrid forum.
