Default will it work

I was at a junk yard today and I was looking at the v6 that was in, I beleive, a sonata and was wondering if you could put the 6 cyl. in an older excel like mine with not too much headache

Does it look like there's enough room in the engine bay to fit it in? It would be a nice project if it'd fit.

bay looks the same size..I would need to measure it......I was more worried about mounts and tranny bolt up

Ok, well first of all we have no idea what year Sonata it is. You have to remember that some years had DSM motors where the current years have a different engine.

Either way, it will probably be a huge headache and definately wouldn't be the best choice of motors to swap in. If I were you, I would look into something more like an Eclipse/Talon 4g63t. It should be a lot easier to swap, the gaines will be a lot nicer, the aftermarket support is a lot better, and you won't muck up your handling because you swapped in a big heavy V6.

There is a replacement for displacement. It is on 2 wheels and 600cc.
