Default Lantra 1.6L 92-95

i wanted to know if the 1.6L dohc in the elantra 92-95 is a modified version of the beta 1.8L or a mitsubishi block or something like that ? uzzled:

or if it's an alpha block.... with really diffrent spec cause borexstroke are like 82mmX75mm :lol:

The 1.6L is a Mitsubishi 4G61. The 1.8L variation is a Mitsubishi 4G67. That's Elantras through 1995.:|

ok so part..... from Beta would fit ? i'd have to search for part from mitsubishi engine.... uzzled:

and mitsubishi means that the tranny is passenger side ? :hmmm:

No, Beta parts wouldn't fit the 4g61. However, Mitsu sold the Mirage/Colt in the late 80s and early 90s with a turbocharged version of that engine, called the 4g61t. Made about 130 hp and 140 lb-ft of torque. They're hard to find, though.

If you trying to find parts for your car look for 4G63 parts as they will bolt right to your motor, with the exception of pistons. If you want to Turbo the motor everything with the exception of piping will bolt to your motor as well.

Here is a old pic of the 4G67(1.8l) in my 94 Elantra Turboed.

i don't have this engine or a lantra i was on hyundai webtech last night and i was cheking some engine to do some N/a tunning and found that my 1.5L simply wouldn't take much Revs :disappointed: so i chek some other hyundai engines :duh:
