Default Probe GT V6

Hi, I just recently bought a '02 Elantra GT. I love the car, but I'm presented with a unique opportunity. A have the option to aquire a 94 Ford Probe GT with some pretty heavy rear body damage for a steal of a bargain. The only reason I would consider this though is the possibility of dropping the 165 HP 2.5l V6 into my Elantra in the future. I know this would void my warranty, but for the bigger engine, I think it would be worth it. Unfortunately I don't even know if it would fit, or what kind of modifications would need to be made. Do any of you guys know is this switch is possible? And how much do you think something like that would cost? Thank you for any suggestions. I Ford would cost thousands to repair, I would just buy it for the engine, maybe the suspension and brakes if they are better than the Elantras.

ok if i were you do i would do a complete search on what your 2.0 BETA engine is capable of. i'm certain that it can put out tons more power than a POS probe engine.
300whp is pretty common in korea. so just do a search and think about what a mistake the v6 probe would be.:dead:

I haven't done much research yet, I was only considering the possibility. I do know that the stock 2.0 in the Elantra puts out 140hp and the stock 2.5 in the Probe puts out 165. How on earth do they get 300 hp out of the 2.0? Do you know of any websites for hyundai teams who have built cars like that?

Hey budy, don't take this the wrong way but if you ever swap a POS Probe engine into your Elantra GT I am driving down to San Diego, CA to stab you in the eyes with a fork. :

First off, to make it even happen would cost you way to much money and you would have an older, higher mileage, inferior engine.
Second, Probes were never realy very mod friendly where The Beta engine in the Elantr is.

The Hyundai Rally teams run about 400whp

I would expect the Speed Camp Tib will have well over 700whp when they are done

And to get 200whp out of that moter will be cheaper and easier then trying to swap a Probe moter in.

To sum it up, it is just a bad idea and I would purge it from you mind and never bring it up again or will have to send the Ninjas after you.:
