I saw this tiburon crashed at a salvage yard and I was wondering if the engine could fit in the elantra engine bay. I have 99 elantra. and the tib engine is a 2.7. So i was wondering do you guys think it will fit?

Everything is possible, will it be easily is the real question? And I'm not sure, I know that it will fit into the 01-03 Elantra with some modifications, but I'm not sure about the older Elantras. Probably better to ask in the Hybrid forum, might find more answers there.

Actually the weight increase is not that much because the V6 has an aluminum block. This creates a whole new problem with the fact the V6 can't handle much more the 250whp.
Therefore the swap would be completely pointless due to the fact it would be cheaper to boost the current engine to get that amount of power then to swap the V6 and built it to that amout of power.
If you do a search, you will find tons of posts on this in the Hybrid forum which ie where this belongs.

Ok, how about this. 2003 Elantra. How hard would it be to pop a 2.7 into one of those? We use the same Engine as the 2.0's, so I figure that the engine mounts are almost identical between the tibbys. Is it the case with the Elantra and the Tibbs? Yes, I did a search. Got nadda.

There is a guy that goes by VDubCop. He used to be on TSR, he might be on HA now, not sure. There was a big Saga with that, if you can track him down, he has A LOT of useful info. I'm talkin' diagrams, dimensions... you name it.

Ok, let me try and explain this in simpler terms.
The V6 has a weak block therefore is unable to handle more then 250whp without having the main bearing cap bolts rip out of the cylinder head. The 4 cylinder Beta has an extremely strong block. This is why the Hyundai Rally team, the Libra Rally team, and the Speedcamp Drag team have all chosen to use it over the Delta. It would be cheaper to build the Beta to 250whp then it would be to swap in the Delta v6 and build it to 250whp. And by keeping the Beta, you could still have the option to go over 250whp.

Can't argue with that , I did actually abandon my quest for the Delta swap into the Elantra. I ended up finding a Beta2 for really cheap, its goin full rebuild this summer and fully boosted this winter.
Although the Delta DOES fit in there (XD body) and for some like myself at an earlier time, the delta, although ONLY capable of 250, would be sick as hell in an elantra. X) IMHO
hehe
