Default engine harness

Hi,
Tried asking this in the sonata forum and got no response. If I swap a 1g 4g63 into my Y1 sonata, will I have to change the harness that connects the computer to the engine harness? Or will the harness that the engine comes with and the 4g63 ecu connect to the stock harness?

Not 100% sure what you are asking but I think this covers it.

Different engine, different ECU, different wiring harness.

Yea, wasn't really sure if anyone would get it.
There is a harness that is attached to the firewall and stays in the car when you pull the motor. It connects the engine harness(by this I mean the harness that is actually on the engine) to the ecu.
Will the DOHC 4g63 ecu connect with this harness? Or will I have to tear the harness out of the inside of an eclipse, tear my car apart to get the harness out, and then re-route the eclipse harness?
Just to put what I'm trying to say into perspective, if I wanted to run a DOHC 4g63 ecu in my bone stock sonata, would it connect?
The only reason that I'm asking intead of assuming is because the g4cs and the 4g63 are almost identical. The head on my engine is the same head as on the SOHC 4g63. I know that Mitsu wouldn't have made a different harness for each engine configuration, it would be too costly. So you should be able to swap a DOHC 4g63 into an SOHC eclipse without having to tear the inside apart to swap harnesses. Would this be true for the Sonata as well?

I am pretty sure you will need the harness too.

I missed this post, but it has allready been covered in the forum. next time try the search button. I will notify Tom of this post and get him to help you. He has a Y1 with the 4G63t Swap, and from what i remember him telling me, he used the standard loom, modified.

Hey guys, thanks for the heads up Justin

Ok i am not sure about the 90-91 Sonata's, but i know 92-93 which had the n/a 2.0 mitsu "talon" engines like my 92 had a plug and ply harness. When we first did this swap in my car in 99 i used a turbo ECU from a Talon and the sucker pluged right in the stock harnes. Now the only thing you have to run is a wire for the knock sensor and wire it in to an empty plug in the ECU. Not sure which plug i used now but#22 or #17 slot possibly? That sounds like it but chek for an empty slot and wire in for the knock sensor . Other then that its basicaly all. Try that, and if you have problems email me
