Default What about a swap for Evolution?

Just wondering...has anyone thought of swapping for a Lancer Evolution engine? Dunno...is it worth it? Maybe not...but it would be nice to see a fast Tibby with a Evo engine..or maybe it's not worth it at all. Doesn't have to be the newer one...perhaps the older versions could be useful? I dunno...I'm just bouncing ideas. X)

Yes, its been coveed bro. Please use the SEARCH.

Also note the Evo LAncer engine is a 4g63t, so its covered under that titale usually.

Basically for the cost of buying the engine and swapping it in. You oculd jsut turbo the BETA engine itself.

Course....I been thinking of doing a similar swap...if I can find a decent one cheap. doubt it.

Basically its like this.

That engine is going to run you 4-5k alone.

Then another $1500 for a shop to put it in. Cause you need to make new engine mounts , and also rewire most of the car.

Now...for that money you could build up your BETA. and show some Hyundai Pride.

And that what we are all about around here. So we dont do it.

Sure the 4g63t (lancer evo) engine might be able to pull 500-600hp.

And the BETA built you are looking at 400hp (without race prepping it, which aint fun for dialy driver) (but with race prep you can hit 600hp+ ))

anyway.

Fast and Stupid Fast are two different things.

Do you really want 400hp?

What about traction issues?

Think of all the GAS that sucker is going to guzzle.

A nice 250hp BETA which is easily done with saya CNK. Is your best bet (with a smaller turbo) since that t3/t4 is huge.

But anyway.

250hp, will net you 220-230hp. And let you beat down most anything stock.

Even modified WRX< remember, not only are they 400 pounds they have AWD. which slows then down.
