I hav'nt got any problem with this supposed immobilisator. I simply used the Accent wiring harness so I hav'nt kept the immobilisator system. Just switched all the wires to their good locations according tu the Beta 2 ECM. I ve also switched some wires of the sensors...
For the axle, one friend finally made me a brand new one a little bit shorter thas the original driver's accent axle. He hav'nt charged anything to me... An happy gift from him.

this souds preatty easy to do and straigt forward, if you had all the parts and tools laid out about how long should the process take with maybe a few extra hands, oh and total cost?

to race or not to race... now that's a stupid question!
if you have all the parts (rewired harness beforehand), a good experienced mechanic, and abundance of powertools, it can be done from start to finished and running within one week. figure about 2k for all of the parts, add labor and any extra ish ( custom exaust is about 50 bucks to weld the beta header onto the stock piping, might as well get a cat back though)

Wouldnt teh beta 2 be more turbo friendly? Not having to deal with the maf and all. So you used the accent harness and reconfigured it to the 02 ecu and wiring specs and had no troubles. Sounds good im thinking about goin lc now hehe instead of x3. Definately wanting to do the beta 2 swap. Were can i get the manual(s) i need to complete the wiring before i start on the swap. one thing on here i havent seen addressed is what is the cost of the custom axles? Besides your free one. Are you shortening just the drivers side. I am gettting my accent next thurday i think. i wanna be working on the wiring harness on wednesday. Is there a diff in the 00 01 02 chassi? ill probalby go 00 (cheapest) Im rambling sorry its 3:15 am and im just hoping i remember all ive read tonight thanks for the info
Sup guys, big question. Im looking to swap my 1.5L soch with a 2.0L beta or a tib engine which is alot easier to find around here. What should i look for i need some help cause i want this to be all prepared for next yr. If someone can email me with any details mitch546@lycos.com it would be great or check out my website if your on cardomain drop me a line there www.cardomain.com/id/accent506xxx . If anyone knows which is the easiest to do that would be a big help im kinda thinking buy new motor but its gonna cost like 3000 to ship to canada. Thanks guys
mitch :chinese:
tru blu: heres your ticket to the easiest swap. Get a 00 accent 1.5L, get a beta I from a 00 tib or elantra (maf), and use your stock axles. The beta II ecm has a engine immobilizer that does not allow the engine to start. It will only start with one key, the one it was programd with from factory. I went with a Beta II, used a beta I harness and ecm, and changed from MAP to MAF, and actually the MAF is more accurate for turbo is what i hear these days.
Mitch: do you have a x3 or a lc???
