Default 2.0L Swap Question??

Just wondering when i do the swap.. Will i have to put in a new fuel pump or just keep the standard one and use a fuel pressure regulator??

Also will i have to purchase a Hi Flow Cat. for my custom exhaust after this conversion is done?

for the swap you can use the stock fuel pump w/out a pressure regulator, although it is a good idea:. and no you do not have to get a high flow cat, the stock beta one will do nicely, even with custom exaust

By the way?? What does it mean by custom exhaust.. Is the positioning of the exhaust going to be changed... OR just the size of the exhaust and pipin itself ??

well before i did the swap on my car i had a custom 2 1/4 inch piping done (beta wont do too good with the stock accent "piping". after the swap the only parts that will have to be modified for the exaust is the part where the header from the beta meets the beginging of the cat back pipeing. This can easily be taken care of at any muffler shop.:smoking:

Ah ok.. Sorry to bother you again... I know this aint really revelant with the subject... But how much did the project set you back.. Excluding motor/gearbox etc...
Extra parts, and labour... What extra things did you have to get to make the 2.0L go in nice and sweetly and getting it all completed??

well since i had trouble with the ecm's and wiring, i had to spend more than it would cost you. The cost of the entire driveline was 1500usd. I used the accent axles, some of the sensors, mounts and other small parts from the accent motor (transmission cable bracket...) It took about 2 months for me to get it all done. But if you use the accent ecm and wiring (1.6L DOHC) like i finally did, the whole swap should take at the very most a week. It took 2 days to mount the engine in, complete with axles and all the other good stuff. the rest of the time was working on the wiring, which can get expensive and frustrating.but all in all it is not that difficult, just use your imagination when it comes to the minor details:
