Ok I ran into this problem when I tried to swap my lantra tranny for my accent tranny. Now I can tell you that the tranny will bolt up to the motor but you will find out the slave clutch cylinder mounts to the flush mounting surface of the 1.5 tranny and is in the way. My thought on it was to notch the beta block out in that area using the metal shield behind the 1.5 clutch/flywheel as a template. Thats as far as I got with it as I didn't want to cut into the block for a temporary fix on the tranny, so I just threw the lantra tranny back on. I also noticed that one tranny was a pull type clutch and the other was a push type clutch to im sure that you will need to use the 1.5 setup on the beta motor.

So... What have the guys using the 1.5 tranny done to get around this? I can't remember ever reading about this problem until recently, so it can't be THAT big of a deal to fix. I wonder what Ice Racer has to say... Can't argue with two working swaps that seem pretty damn reliable.

I am running the 2.0L engine with the 1.5L SOHC tranny... what you need to do is get a flywheel from a 2.0L tibby and the clutch and pressure plate from a 93-95 scoupe turbo.. with will mate up to both the engine and the 1.5L tranny...

HOPE THAT HELPS!!

Yep, that's what I'm doing. Nice to see you around here again, Spikie!

*Spikie - You wouldn't have any info or anything else left of that transmission swap write up you did ages ago, would you? I'm doing it soon and needed a little help from someone that has done it. I was relying on that old project spikie page of yours for a long time, lol, some good info there.
