I'm thinking of buying an '02-'03 Accent and doing a beta swap, but before i do i'd like to talk to some people who have already done it.
What HP are you getting now, how long did it take to swap it, and what year engine fits best into the accent or does it matter? Any time slips or anything like that? Any other advice?
Hey, I own a 2002 Hyundai Accent BetaII swap and dynoed at 130 whp and 136 pounds of touque. Tunning with a Apexi s-afcII got me those numbers. I used a 02 Elantra motor for my swap and had a shop do the work for me, which took 3 weeks and $3000 later. My best time in the quarter mile is 15.9 all motor and 15.0 with 65 shot of nitrous. Good luck on your swap.

I was hoping for some better numbers than that, but i guess its good for an Accent. How does that compare to a civic? lol. I'm planning on turboing mine, i hope that can get me some better numbers.
what kind of numbers were you expecting out of a stock engine?
and it will beat any stock civic....
I'm not sure what i'm expecting... I plan on tuning mine as much as possible, and even if it takes a year or so, i just want to know that i'll end up with something awesome. I plan to turbo it and i'm hoping i can get at least 12 sec in the 1/4 mile.
A Beta Accent will make the Same amount of Power as a Beta in its original Home.(Elantra/Tiburon)
My Geuss is a 105kw MAx.
But 1600Vtec are hard to ignore, Im my City That Tune them to 125kw ATW 140ATF the torque is that great 150nm. But the Gearing is Excellent and when shifting it always stays in the max power rev range!
